Of all the contractors we've used over the years Vatzek stands out as the very best so far. Our bathroom renovation turned into bathroom renovations, all three bathrooms. We had chosen our tile and the design for the floors, bath surround and counter back splahes. After Deb and I meet with Vatzek, where he threw out some ideas and suggestions, we soon discarded our design and tile choice in favor of his recommendations, thankfully. Vatzek is not only a skilled craftsmen with great attention to detail and workmanship but he guided us through to the best tile choice and design for what we envisioned for our bathrooms and at less cost than any other contractor. On more than one occasion Vatzek ran into problems with warped walls or areas out of square. Instead of continuing along fudging and fitting he removed tiles, fixed the walls then re-tiled only when everything fit and lined up perfectly (and at no extra cost). Something we had never experienced with any other contractor. Vatzek also picked up all our tile from the supplier and since I fancy myself a bit of a handy guy he gave us options for saving money by doing some things ouselves (demolition and prep work for e.g.). We have one last thing we think we should do sometime in the future, replace a shower stall with a tiled shower, and Vatzek will definitely be the person we get to do it. He is not only a great tile contractor but a very nice guy, my wife says a real gentlemen, a pleasure to talk to.

- What could this company do to improve their services?
- For some people they might want exact times when the work is being done. Vatzek would stay past 7pm for example which might not work for some people, it worked for us though. But some people might want the dinner hour without a contractor there and that's where Vatzek could maybe ask if there are any time restrictions for the days he would be working. Wasn't a concern for us but I can see someone not liking a contractor around say past 5pm.
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- Get more than one contractor in to estimate the work. You get to meet them, see what type of person they are which may help you determine the quality of work you might expect. Get someone referred to you by a relative or friend who used the contractor themselves. That was our case with Vatzek and he worked out wonderfully.

From the very beginning, Deb and Steve granted me their trust. They created a family atmosphere so in turn, noise and dust which are a unavoidable part of my job, had no impact on me. I'm full of respect for Steve and his knowledge and skill in the field of construction.
