We hired G.J. MacRae for several reasons. 1) They were a family run company that was local and well established. 2) They had been featured on Mike Holmes TV show. 3) Their proposal for the repair was very reasonable. We wanted the repair done properly from the outside of the house, and I had heard of many problems people had experienced using crack injection type repair companies. MacRae came by for an inspection and was very knowledgeable and gave me some good advice about other issues we had around the house related to the foundation. The weather kept the repair from starting on the scheduled days, but each time I was called early in the morning to let me know that work was not going to proceed that day. When the day came the workers were very courteous and worked all day to dig out the foundation, apply the repair and back fill and tamp the earth. After the cleanup was done, you would hardly know they had been there. We were very satisfied with the workmanship and overall we felt we were dealing with a very professional company. I would recommend them to anyone in my family to deal with.

The entire process with Herb Lodde & Sons went very smoothly. I did some research on roofing materials and methods before hand so that I would have some way of knowing when I might be getting ripped off. We met with Jason who did our quote and discussed the various options with us. He was quite knowledgable and I found that many of the things that I had learned in my research were echoed in the things that he had to say. The quote was in the middle of three quotes we had received, however the shingle quality and warranty was much better, which gave us much better value for our dollar. Once the deal was signed the rest of the process went as planned. Installers worked quickly and carefully and completed the new roof in one day (about 10 hours of work). The roof was then checked by the company's QA inspector about a week later, and then we received an invoice a week after that. Overall we were very satisfied and the new roof looks very good on our house.

Afer reading the reviews here on homestars I decided to have Airworks conduct the cleaning and inspection of our furnace in our just purchased, 10 year old home. Jaz arrived right on time on the scheduled day and was polite and courteous, even taking off his shoes without being asked. I showed him the furnace and he got down to checking things out. He first took the time to point out some of the general issues that people face with furnances of this type and age and had also noted the work that the previous owner had down without my prompting. He took about an hour to inspect and clean the furnace and then showed us some issues with the humidifier. The previous had installed the humidifier and had done a poor job. It was not tied into the 120V supply properly and the humidistat was in the wrong location. He quoted us $389.00 for a new digitally controlled humidifier installed. We called a week or two later and scheduled for him to come back and install the humidifier. However, instead of Jaz, Costas arrived, who had the wrong humidifier model. When I pointed this out he immediately called the office to determine where the mix-up occurred and then returned to the office to get the correct humidifier. He was back in about 15 minutes and got right to work. Again he was very polite and courteous and was very knowledgable about the humidifier. After about an hour he finished and showed me how the unit worked and reiterated that if we had any issue, to call them and they make sure things were working correctly. All in all they gave very good service and I would recommend them to others.
