Small Electrical Jobs in House
When I contacted Dan we discussed a number of small electrical jobs that needed to be completed at my home and he arranged for an electrician to come out to do the work. When the electrician arrived he determined some of the jobs could not or should not be done that day, and I added some additional small jobs. The electrician did the following: Installed chandelier in dining room (chandelier was already assembled and wires were accessible). Checked alternate dimmer switch (not useable). Removed wall socket over kitchen sink & terminated electrical supply to it. Removed live socket & wire from deck & disconnected it from electrical supply. Purchased & replaced circuit breaker in electrical panel to eliminate double tapping. Replaced 2 existing wall sockets with GFI's (provided). Purchased & installed GFI receptacle cover on front porch. Checked potlights in ceiling in basement and upstairs bedrooms for safety. Purchased & replaced 2 existing wall sockets. Repaired faulty connection of ceiling light fixture in bathroom. Removed front hall ceiling fixture & replaced with alternate fixture (provided). The electrician was very knowledgeable and I have no issue with the quality of the work that was done. However I do not think the work should have taken 8 hours to complete. I have assisted with similar electrical projects in 2 previous homes and in my opinion this work should have been completed in about 1/2 the time. This would have made the bill around $450 which I feel would have been reasonable for the jobs that were completed.
