It took us over a year to decide which company and contractor to select and we were thrilled with the work that Dotch Construction and Renovation completed in our home. With Yury’s leadership and his team of knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled professionals, Phase I of our renovation was a success! The project involved removal of the popcorn ceiling, replacing the old with the new, and that means new window and door trims, new casing, new crown moulding, new baseboards, priming, painting, new lighting, replacing parquet with engineered hickory hardwood floors, gutting out two out-dated washrooms and modernizing it with new vanities, toilets, a walk-in shower with glass doors, a niche and a half wall that were all built from scratch. New shower and floor tiles were installed, plumbing for the sink was moved from floor to wall, and plumbing in the shower area involved work to suit our modern style. Yury’s team helped with the removal and reinstallation of closets, mirrors, blinds, curtain rods, etc. for no extra charge. The high ceiling in the foyer area was converted to a study room for our daughter (an extension to her bedroom) and this was a huge construction project in itself. The room looks amazing! We also upgraded our stairwell. Old wooden pickets were replaced with iron spindles. New stairs and new railings were installed and stained with our color selection. We were so impressed and pleased with the work from Dotch Construction, that several of the items mentioned above were requested after the contract was signed and the project was in progress. Yury was able to plan and manage all our new requests and still stay on schedule. Karin and her team did a wonderful job on our home. They painted 3 washrooms, 3 bedrooms, a huge hallway with an extremely high ceiling, all the windows, doors, baseboards, crown moldings and closets, including a window that is several feet high within 2 days. (I must mention that other painters who quoted needed 7 days which would have been very difficult to manage with 2 little kids, plus none of them included or discussed the closets in their quotations). My son's room was a challenge, since the previous owners had painted it green and this could be seen through the new Yellow colour we selected. But Karin personally returned 5 or 6 times, till she was satisfied. We were very impressed with her hard work and honesty. We had a 2nd challenge considering that I decided to change the mirrors, lights and vanities in the 3 washrooms, but Karin requested me to go ahead and give her a call when it was all done. I was worried because she had already painted the washrooms, but even though it took us 3 months to find and install good vanities, lights and mirrors, Karin returned and got the job done. Again, the level of honesty and commitment is amazing. We will be calling Painters Plus back when we are ready to paint the basement.

Alex and his team were here 15 minutes early. They were super fast, yet careful with our boxes and furniture. Everything was wrapped, boxed and dismantled properly and when we reached the new home they assembled all our furniture and moved the boxes into the home as per our direction. I am especially grateful to them for being very cautious around my little baby and also being quiet (for a moving day that is remarkable) when the baby was asleep. Thumbs up to you guys! You certainly made moving a fun experience.

The team arrived on time but Vian their supervisor arrived without a ladder. She returned an hour later just to drop it off. I thought it was her responsibility to supervise the team but I guess not. We had Gladys and Ahlam clean our new home and it seemed like they did an excellent job, so I paid the $400. However, I checked later and some of the top kitchen cabinets were not cleaned and the walls were never wiped even though I had insisted on this several times. Vian said they would return to clean the large window and chandelier but I am still waiting. After following up with Ray their manager, he send me a phony Auto-reply stating that the company had closed down but it never did. Be careful with this company and check their work thoroughly before they leave.
