We moved into an older house and were looking to update a few features. I wanted to replace the old stone fireplace with a large white mantel, and build a wall-to-wall custom entertainment unit. After shopping around for quotes, I didn't think I would be able to do both, because of the cost. I found Steven on Homestars, and had him in to take a look. His quote was considerably more reasonable than others, and his work looked great. We decided to proceed with the projects. Throughout the process Steven was incredible to work with. Not only from an execution perspective, but also in the design phase. His experience with fireplace mantels proved valuable, as he was able to tweak my design with the best proportions and finishes. We purchased an older house that needed lots of cosmetic work. Specifically, the bedroom had an old closet that was being unused, and walls in very rough shape. In two days, Tom completely transformed the room, with new framing and drywall to maximize the space that wasn’t being used, and redo all the old plaster walls. He also replaced an old wall on the main floor that was in bad shape. We are first-time homeowners who don’t really know what we are doing, and trusted Tom’s advice. I would highly recommend Tom – we couldn’t be happier with his work.
