Any future customers be warned. Dealing with Bruce and his company has been a nightmare. Originally we gave him a substantial deposit in March so that materials could be ordered and a promise to complete the work 'as soon as the weather permitted in May'. We were told that our project would take 2 or 3 days. After countless attempts to reach Bruce as May turned into June, he produced constant excuses and many times just didn't show up on dates 'promised' to begin the work. We had finally had enough and asked for our money to be returned - no materials had been produced (he ended up ordering the wrong siding) and no work had been completed. He finally told us to call another contractor (who had NOTHING positive to say about Bruce as it turned out) this was now late October. The job ended up being completed in November at a GREATER cost (at this point we just wanted the job completed before the Winter and it was clear Bruce was not going to be completing the job). It is virtually impossible to reach Bruce as his voicemail is constantly full and he has now, as with others who have posted here, stopped returning our calls. He continuously makes promises he cannot keep - we have heard every excuse in the book. Bruce still has $500 of our money that he has “promised”, for weeks, to repay us (he WAY over estimated on materials and then came to pick up the leftovers to complete another job so he could pay us the money we were owed - which he hasn't done). I’d go with any other company before opting to deal with Bruce and Complete Exteriors.

This is our second time using Gem Windows and Doors. We were so happy the first time we decided to use them again to have our large front window replaced – previously they had replaced 3 windows on our main floor. Right from the start Seymour’s service was polite and timely – not pushy at all. Once our windows were measured and ordered we were kept up to date on timelines for installation. Due to poor weather the window crew was a little behind and as a result our installation was postponed. However, Gem called with plenty of time to notify us of the change and ask if it was alright to reschedule – taking into account our schedule. The installation was very professionally done and the workers were extremely conscientious. Just one example of the level of care was that they told us that the fumes from the caulking were quite strong and since we had a brand new baby perhaps we would want to stay out of the house for awhile, or at least out of the room, where the window was installed. The crew did a great job with clean up and left the site as they found it. We have had many compliments from neighbours and friends with regard to the window. Even previous to this latest work we have recommended Gem to others – who have also had great success with their own projects. We will certainly use Gem in the future for our window and door needs.
