RE: hardwood floor installation. Contractors came in to do a quote quickly but thoroughly. They asked for a few more days to negotiate the cost of supplies with their supplier, and brought down the cost of supplies first from $9/sqft to $5.20/sqft, and then finally down to $3.95/sqft - for hardwood flooring. The work was done methodically and systematically, with furniture being moved to ensure that we, the clients, still could work/live in the space while the work was being done. The job was finished under-budget and on-time, with the quality of the worksmanship being excellent. RE: Other items While they were there, we made use of the contractors to see if there was other work that they could do. They repainted two washrooms, installed two new lighting systems, replaced bathroom plumbing/toilets, replaced our kitchen sink and plumbing, and assisted converting our den/office into a guest bedroom. All of this took only about 2 more days, with 1 more day to research and purchase supplies. Even considering the other work that the contractors completed, the project was less expensive than we had initially budgeted for the hardwood flooring installation itself. And throughout the entire process, the contractor kept us regularly informed and explained the process. They were also very receptive to changes or modifications that we requested. Definitely a contractor we trust and would recommend to anyone else. In fact, we're considering them for a kitchen remodel in the near future.
