I'm very surprised that CCHI received a 9.4 rating as our experience with replacement and installation of windows was not satisfactory. Back in 2005, we had all of the front windows in our house replaced. I had to call many times to follow up on an installation date as they kept postponing. We actually threatened to cancel as the delivery date was well over the quoted date. The urgency of the installation was that we were expecting twins in early January 2006. I finally got CCHI to do the install in December. The installers were two gentlemen who each day arrived appearing extremely hung over and reeking of alcohol. They were very pleasant to work with but very slow and not very proficient. Their work was sloppy and the end result very disappointing. For instance, several of the exterior bricks were cracked and not repaired; the exterior bay window ledge was filled with cement not matching the colour of our bricks and the wood trim around the interior windows not secured properly. They filled the mitered corners poorly, leaving a visual mess around the trim and on the walls. Additionally, they were baffled by determining the mitered cuts around the bay window and the end result is obviously unprofessional. To the installers credit, they worked in freezing cold temperatures and worked well into the evening to make up for their tardiness in arriving on the job site. As for the product, the manufactured windows work as intended. We never did follow up with CCHI regarding the deficiencies as we were otherwise occupied with two premature babies. We are only now rating this company as we are now needing to replace the remaining windows in our home and have our front door replaced. We will not be contracting CCHI for this work.

Since, as the customer states, her new windows were installed in 2005, we proceeded to do a search of our files back over 8 years. We could find no evidence that would assist us in identifying the customer’s surname, or if she is, in fact, a Consumer’s Choice customer.

As the customer states in her review, “she never did follow up with Consumer’s Choice Home Improvements”. We can also confer that there were no requests for service which match the concerns contained in this review. We would have attended to any service concerns 8 years ago, if requested by the customer, and we can confirm that the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty remains in place and in full effect.

If Home Stars can assist in determining who the writer of the review is, we remain more than prepared to conduct a full investigation into any concerns the customer may have.

We can perform an inspection of the installation and do whatever service may be required to ensure the customer’s complete satisfaction.

In the meantime, we look forward to any assistance that Home Stars can provide concerning the identity of the author of this review.
