Firstly I have to say the end result is beautiful. It turned out just as we had hoped. There were some stressful moments at times with scheduling and communication. Kitchen & Bath are not the best at scheduling thier visits. Often they would not show up when promised or they would show up unannounced after telling us they would not be coming. This did make for some awkward days to say the least. Specially if we wanted to do something on the off days. A coworker of mine, who liked the price we were quoted, hired Kitchen & Bath to do their home also. As pleased as they were with the outcome, they had the very same issues with coordination of the work.
This was our first experience with a major home renovation. Perhaps all contractors operate in the same way. If this is the case then I can't fault K&B for operating within the industry standard, but it's a standard I don't particularly agree with.
The materials seem to be of good solid quality so time will tell on that front. Installation was also very good and any little problems which came up during the renovation were dealt with to our satisfaction.
We also upgraded our electrical panel and service as we had the old fuse type panel. That added about $5500 to the final cost which we were not budgeting for but it was the right time to do so.
We are very pleased with the outcome even if the road to get there was frustrating at times. To be without a kitchen for 8 weeks is stressful to say the least.
Bottom line...If you can deal with the scheduling and communication issues then I think you will be very happy with the end result. Our kitchen looks wonderful.
Thank you to all the team involved in building our beautiful kitchen.
