We couldn't be happier with the job Val did on our backyard project. We had a small deck, but it was past its prime, and due for replacement. Val tore out the old deck, and replaced everything from the substructure up. We had many conversations back and forth about materials and design style, and he was very patient with us with no pressure as we figured out what it was that we wanted to do. His advice was very helpful, and in the end we're very thankful that we took his advice, because we're sure it made the final product look its best. All of that said, we had a slight miscommunication about exactly how we wanted something done (our fault), and so we ended up surprising him on the day of construction by changing the plan that he had in mind. We felt bad about the confusion, but Val rolled with it effortlessly and pivoted to the new plan seamlessly. The finished product is perfect, with lots of little touches that we never would have thought of ourselves, like making sure the base of the facia boards was elevated just slightly off the ground to avoid any damage to the product, and perfectly matching the very slight slope of the patio over which it was installed. Val is a friendly, pleasant person to be around, and always had time for us to go the extra mile. I would definitely hire SV Decks again for another job, and couldn't be happier with their work.
