Our project was a full house gut renovation and took about 8 months to complete. Throughout this project, Tony was straightforward, honest, trustworthy, and very thorough. He was very organized and was always quick to respond and did his best to understand us and offered options when surprises came up. He was very responsive (by returning messages quickly), and listened to our concerns. He was also very fair, especially when surprises arose, he didnt charge us more than what material and his labour costs are (eg. added soundproofing subflooring needed). We had many surprises along the project but he was always reassuring to us that there would be a solution. We had to deal with a very difficult City inspector who made surprises to the project and added more stress and delay, but Tony arranged all the inspections with him to meet all those requirements. His team of workers were always on time and hardworking and worked at our project all the way through. Often, we didnt mind buying lunch for them because they worked extremely hard everyday. At the end of each day, the crew removed garbage and cleaned up the work area every day. Tony is very experienced and knowledgeable about building codes (with what worked and didnt work). He is well connected so if he was unsure of something, would consult with other professionals. He dealt with all his subtrades, electrician, HVAC, plumber, insulation, etc. We had a previous contractor who made the front basement concrete stairs difficult to step on and the overhead verandah would be a hazard. Upon his first visit, Tony explained that this would not pass occupancy permit (even though it wasnt his workmanship) and therefore the building permit would not close. He offered to alter the concrete stairs at no cost, because he found it, in his conscience, to be a hazard for future tenants hitting their head. In the end, the concrete stairs redid the stairs extremely well with his hardworking crew, at no charge, to comply with the occupancy code and allowed our permit to close. Overall, Tony is a very honest, organized, experienced professional of high integrity who cares about the quality of his work. It was a pleasure to work with him and his crew as he took a lot of the stress off of us. We highly recommend Tony to anyone who is looking for caring, timely, and reputable contractor. If we could, we would give him more than 10 stars! We definitely look forward to working with him again.
