In 2018, our insurance company recommended Burke's to handle our home restoration after extensive smoke damage. We got several other quotes for the restoration and for basement waterproofing and a new construction project we decided to undertake at the same time. Based on our meetings with Burke's and their ability to match comprehensive quotes, we decided to grant them the full scope of work, including: full tear out and smoke remediation, basement interior waterproofing, construction on a new roof line design, new primary bedroom with vaulted ceiling, City permit inspections, complete exterior re-cladding of our home and a new backyard deck. We are so glad we made the decision to have Burke's handle our complete project. By the time we moved home in 2019, we considered Gary, George and the Burke's staff to be trusted friends (and still do!) Burkes did an excellent job and truly cared about the workmanship from top to bottom. In the fire restoration quoting process, they were honest with the insurance company and with us, carefully analyzing the extent of the damage and providing a comprehensive quote. In the extra work and new construction, they were able to match or out-bid other contractors. We learned that unlike new construction, the restoration process is unique and we always found Burke's to be patient with our questions. When minor snags or delays came up, it was usually due to sub-contractors. We visited our construction site every day and interacted frequently with the crew onsite and regularly with George and Gary. They always responded quickly and respectfully to our questions or concerns. Their in-house contractors, including general labour, electrician and plumbers were excellent. For the most part, the sub-contractors Burke's used were also good, including the plumbing, tiling, flooring and roofing contractors. We had issues with the HVAC company, but in the end, Burke's made sure we were back in our home on time and very happy with the end result. We highly recommend Burke's.

After interviewing three custom closet companies, I chose Tailored living and Ian Graham for our master closet installation. I found Ian to be warm and professional in every aspect of my dealings with him. Ian first visited our space when renovations began and was able to visualize and help suggest options to maximize the available space and suggest ways to work around a floor level bulkhead and heat vent. He was then able to quickly render accurate colour 3-D drawings which let us see our vision and tweak the design. When our project was delayed for several months I appreciated Ian following up regularly and keeping in touch. I also appreciated that he was always on time for site visits to measure and re measure as the room took shape. Ian was able to move the installation date one week early to help us expedite our move in. The final installation took place today and Ian and his crew did a wonderful job. The carpentry and workmanship is excellent. The crew protected our new flooring and cleaned up every last bit of dust before leaving. The finished product is beautiful and top quality, and the design is lovely. We can’t wait to move in! I highly recommend Tailored Living and Ian Graham.

We wanted a concrete patio in our back garden to resemble square cut limestone. We interviewed four companies and were most impressed with Elite Designed Concrete. Raffy was our first contact and after listening and taking a look at our site, was able to give us a precise idea of what Elite could do for us, show us samples of similar projects they had done and provide a clear estimate of the cost. After we made a small deposit, Marcelo came out in the pouring rain and worked with us to draw out the plan, spray-painting the design on to the area to give us an idea of the final look. He seemed to really want to make a perfect job for us and didn't seem to care that he was soaking wet! I told Marcelo we wanted the patio done by July 11 for a party. Next came a polite and friendly crew of formers and carpenters. They started at 7:30 am and were quiet and respectful of our neighbours as they set up. I was impressed that they were wearing brand new matching Elite t-shirts! They put down boards so as not to trample on the lawn and garden. They asked me questions and made sure the forming was to my satisfaction. They even suggested an improvement and when I agreed, they were more than willing to alter a small section. They helped me visualize different angle measurements in the transition from lawn to patio. Several days later the concrete pouring crew arrived, again at 7:30 am and again wearing matching Elite t-shirts. They also were clean, quiet and respectful. Every effort was made by them to make sure my lawn and gardens were not damaged and that I was happy with the result. The patio looks fantastic, and exactly as we envisioned. It looks every bit like an expensive square cut limestone patio! On July 11, the morning before my party, the guys arrived to backfill around the patio with nice topsoil to make sure it looked complete for my event. I can not tell you how rare and wonderful it is to work with a company that provides such care in the design and execution of their work and delivers what they promise. When they left, the place was spotless. You would never know a large concrete project had been undertaken. Elite is a company that oozes integrity and attention to detail. I would definitely hire them again, in a heartbeat and recommend them confidently. 10/10!
