Shortly after taking possession of my house, it had become apparent that the previous owners had not discolosed a known issue regarding a leaky roof above the master bedroom. A colleague referred me to a roofing contractor who came in to fix it. Unfortunately, rather than fixing it, they made the underlying issue worse. They simply plastered caulking around and over the hole, in effect creating a valley where water would be further accelerated through my roof. Sure enough, on the first rainy day following the completion of their work, my bedroom ceiling started to leak ver badly. At that moment, I did the due diligence on Homestars and contacted Elvis. He came in immediately, got up on the roof, diagnosed the issue, and showed up the next day with the materials to get it done. He removed the caulking, tore up the shingles in the area, removed the old sheet metal, exposed the hole, fabricated new sheet metal to cover, flamed it, laid down snow and ice matrix, and then put new shingles over top. Gave me a 5 year warranty and followed up with me on the next day of heavy rainfall. My ceiling has been bone dry since -- even the heavy thunderstorms / floods in early July were no match of Elvis' workmanship. I contacted the original contractor and asked for my money back - he refused saying that he was asked to "repair" the problem, and not to "fix" it. What a crook! Thank god there are true professionals like Elvis, who are willing to clean up the mess left behind by these criminals. Thank you, Elvis.

Tilestars were absolute professionals from beginning to end. So many issues arose throughout my renovations -- particularly in the bathroom where the previous owners glued tiles to plywood using PL premium. Removing it was a nightmare, and I feared for the worst. Dmitri and his team worked tirelessly to remove everything without issue. They quickly gutted the remainder of the bathroom, attacked the kitchen backsplash, installed new cement board / drywall, and did am amazing job with the tiles. Dmitri even re-did a section of the backsplash that I wasn't completely happy with. I am so happy with the quality and workmanship. I'm going to be renovating my basement bathroom next year -- I will definitely be calling Dmitri for that job, as well. Thanks, Tilestars!!

The most challenging aspect of my recent home renovation was the levelling of my 2nd floor. And, undoubtedly, the most important thing that I did was hire Paul and his team. They were complete professionals and their work laid the foundation required for my subsequent renovations to go smoothly. In only 3 days, they demolished the original flooring (circa 1920), and installed new plywood subfloor to an absolutely perfect, flat level. I couldn't be happier. I am planning on doing additional renovations to my home next year that will require some serious structural work, and there is no doubt that PTR Carpentry will be the ones that I use.
