We experienced an intermittent leak in the rec room ceiling which was suspiciously underneath the refrigerator in the kitchen above. But because it was intermittent it was puzzling as to what was causing it. Over a period of a few weeks the leaks became more frequent dripping on the laminate floor and threatening to swell it. My HomeStars "handy man" request was answered almost immediately by Dimitri who offered to come and look at the situation. He and his partner Andre spent considerable time investigating the situation using an infrared camera and fibre optical probe to see what was happening. The leak was confirmed to be associated with the fridge water supply but it wasn't clear how. Since the fridge was suspect, they pulled it away from the wall to check the floor. Bone dry! No evidence of wetness anywhere. Very puzzling. Long story short, Dimitri stayed with the situation and employed intelligent deductive reasoning to finally zero in on the problem. He suggested we manually sponge up the water from the evaporator pan in the fridge to check if that was the source of the water. After doing that for over a week during high humidity weather, the leaking stopped and the ceiling started drying out! Thanks to his quick response and dedication to problem solving Dimitri avoided our having to destroy our ceiling in pursuit of a non-existant plumbing problem. We have a very mature Mulberry tree (I know, I know, a weed tree!) which we inherited when we bought the house 8 yrs ago. At the time it had been pollarded so we had no idea what it was. We found out not too long afterwards as it grew like crazy, and by last year it was well above the roof top with several branches leaning towards the neighbour's swimming pool and over our sun-room. It is also a fruiting tree and dropped hundreds of purple-blue berries in the Spring, many of which ended up in that pool, much to the annoyance of the owner! Our lawn and walkway was also covered making it an awful experience for both us and the dog! We are not a young couple but my wife and I managed to take down all the branches facing our back yard, but 3 very long limbs remained which we did not want to risk having fall on the fence, the house, or the other neigbour's yard. PIneridge gave us a extremely fair price and even moved up the appointment date by a week which was good because the tree was about to bud out. The crew decided it would be faster and easier to take down the limbs by climbing rather than setting up a lift. Well, let me tell ya, I have nothing but respect for the fellow who pulled the short straw on this job and did the actual pruning! He was able to go very high up on each limb and skilfully hand cut and chainsaw cut his way down. I should mention that the Mulberry tree is extremely tough, dense, and "rubbery" and even though the top most diameter appeared to be too small to hold a man's weight our tree topper showed no worries even as the limb swayed back and forth a bit! The Mulberry tree fought him all the way to the bitter end but Pineridge was victorious! The crew was polite, respectful and completely professional with a sense of humour to boot. Pineridge took a load of worry off our shoulders and I highly recommend them. Thanks fellas!

We had an approx 18' section of old rotting wooden fence and gate which needed replacing. It was not a straight forward job because space was tight, and the existing concrete and adjacent soil geometry together with the neighbour's property line considerations presented a significant challenge. Other contractors either couldn't figure it out or caused so much complexity that it was getting ridiculous! But Artur took one look at the situation and in a few minutes had a simple workable solution, and for a very reasonable price. Beyond this practical consideration we wanted a customized gate beyond a simple rectangle, which required considerable work to make. Working from some photos they finished the gate and fence, and its an amazing job! Beautiful workmanship. Artur and his 2 man crew worked all day from about 8:00am until 6:00 with very few breaks, and would not leave until we were satisfied! They even kindly removed and disposed of some rotting earth timbers belonging to the neighbour, at their request, which was adjacent to our fence. I can't recommend Artur and crew enough. They were conscientious, polite, worked their behinds off and in the end did terrific work. Thank you very much Artur!

Last winter, our old Wait model humidifier's circuitry failed and was not working correctly. It worked, sort of, but not enough water was passing through the evaporator pad and this winter the whole house was suffering from dryness and we were extremely uncomfortable, I contacted HomeStars late in the evening for help and almost immediately received a reply from Yuriy. He offered to have a look at it the next day. His recommendation was to replace the old unit rather than try a repair and I accepted. Two days later he came and installed a new AprilAire unit which so far is working very nicely. This was a relatively small job which only one other contractor bothered to reply to so we are doubly grateful for his interest and willingness to make our lives more comfortable in such a prompt manner. I can't recommend Yuriy highly enough. He was generous with his time, his workmanship was top notch, and the price was more than reasonable. Thank you Yuriy!
