Botched and abandoned kitchen renovation
We hired Dan Wilcox to do the electrical work for our kitchen renovation in November 2022. I believe he started the work on November 19th. We paid 80% ($2704.80) of the invoice after the first stage of the work was complete. Since then he has returned on two occasions to continue the work, however it remains incomplete and our kitchen pot light switches are wired incorrectly. When you flip the switch, some lights turn off and other lights turn on. Other lights flicker badly. He has crossed the circuits somewhere so that three different switches are controlling lights that should be controlled by only one switch, which leads them to turn lights on and off simultaneously. I'm concerned this is a fire hazard. Some of the pot lights are also not secure to the ceiling and are sagging down. He also was supposed to finish our above the stove vent so it vents to the outside. He has left it venting into our attic. I'm very concerned this is a fire hazard in our home and do not feel safe using our stove or kitchen lights with three kids at home. He said he would be here January 3rd to fix the mess of a job he did but never showed up and is now ignoring phone calls from both myself and our contractor. He will not return messages or texts, even though I can see he has read them. He has taken our money and abandoned the job. Also totally botched the work that he did complete.
