I have hired Ermal (Absolute Aluminum) and his crew a number of times over the past year. I can say without doubt he is a good man and artisan of his trade. The completed jobs included the replacement of damaged eavestroughs shared with my semi-detached neighbour due to framing work by another crew. The work was performed so well that my antagonistic neighbour commended the quality of the workmanship and colour matching of the aluminum. Not only did Ermal replace the eavestrough, but as a professional courtesy, Ermal also performed repairs to the underlying support boards to ensure the final outcome was complete and durable on my neighbour's side. A few months ago, we hired Ermal's crew again to install flashing to a new exterior concrete foundation bench. Although this was still considered rough work before R5 continuous insulation, cement board and stucco mounting, the work was finish-quality. Ermal went out of his way to procure a higher gauge aluminum flashing to ensure the quality was high and the metal would not dent or puncture as the result of work by subsequent trades. A few days ago, Ermal was rehired again to install the final flashing and soffit. All the angles were flush and perfect. The duct vent exhausts were level and flush. The job was completed efficiently, professionally, and cost-effectively. All this work was performed on a property at Summerhill and Yonge. Ermal has met and exceeded the expectations. I also have a high standard with respect to attitude, ideals and work ethic. At times, the job was difficult, but Ermal never complained. Costas is very professional. He has a sense of empathy and traditional artisan values. Costas provides his customers with honest rates for excellent services. I called Costas a few times. I regret not hiring Omega the first time. A few months later, I hired Omega to finish the work, including reconnecting the gas line. The previous gas line run pattern from many years ago (probably installed by the previous owner who had rented equipment) was awkward. They had run the gas line along the building's side wall and then through the side of the building before a few twists and turns until they reached the HVAC and water heater. It also caused a 5" ceiling reduction in the basement due to the iron pipe running in midair. Instead of keeping with the legacy run pattern, Omega came up with a much neater and more elegant solution, which involved tapping into the building near the gas meter and then running along the side and between the joists with a low profile. You can barely see the iron pipeline. This avoided messy iron pipe twists and turns. I am very thankful for their consideration and extra effort in making this work. I checked their work. All the lines and angles were straight, flush and level. Not one mistake. Omega sent someone back to perform a quality assurance and pressure test before recertifying with a tag.
