I would like to start by saying this review is in no way a reflection of the men that helped me move. The actual movers worked hard given the circumstances. My review is directed at the Management of GetMovers. As it is unprofessional, unreliable and in my opinion non-existent. Do yourself the favor and don't use this company - please listen to the bad reviews. Firstly, the movers who were originally scheduled had car issues, which resulted in a team coming 2 hours later than scheduled. I received no communication that they were going to be late, even after an hour had passed. I had to make dozens of calls before ANYONE answered the phone and wasn't given an ETA until one of the drivers called me saying they were 10 minutes away. Once they arrived they got to work, clearly exhausted as they weren't originally scheduled for this job. My building charges for the elevator to be booked/reserved for moves. I reserved and paid for 3 hours. Because they were late I had to hold the elevator for a total of 5 hours and was charged extra fees. Had they arrived on time I wouldn't have been charged these late fees and they could have been done at my pickup location in under 3 realistically. Once the movers arrived at my drop-off location, both my boyfriend and I helped unload the truck, despite paying for the moving company. It was already 10:00 PM and we all wanted to go home, it was an extremely hot and humid evening. I couldn't imagine how long it would have taken had we not helped. This is ridiculous considering I hired a moving company so I didn't have to move my own belongings but ended up doing anyways AND paying for it. Because all of this was so poorly communicated and not one single call was made to me to apologize AND I actually helped moving despite paying for a company to do it. I submitted a claim, as they directed to me too. Here's where management becomes a joke. They have been dodging my calls and emails for nearly 2 weeks. I keep getting a "Someone is working on it" or "Someone will call you back in the next hour" Yeah well it's been a week. I only went with this company due to a last-minute move, their reviews seemed reasonable. But let me just say BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS. I would absolutely never recommend this moving company due to their Management being a complete nightmare. As for the movers, friendly and hard-working.
