KN, I am absolutely shocked to hear of your experience with Belinda, and with no disrespect to you, I must firstly remind readers that there are always two sides to a story. Secondly I hope that after sharing my personal experience may the readers, and potential clients see Belinda again as her other client do, as a 10! In May of 2008 my husband and I were referred to Design Studio by our son's pediatrician, who is a former client of Belinda's. Our Pediatrician was so enthusiastic to spread her name, that he logged onto his computer during our appointment to show us her portfolio. I was very excited to find a designer that was so highly recommended, but I was still a little apprehensive seeing that our former designers consultation fee cost us $820.00 for two hours (talk about price gouging). When I called Belinda I was in the parking lot of BB Bargoons, I called her because I was tired of the endless running around, as well as the uncertainty in the decorating decisions, so I decided to hire a professional to finish the job. During our conversation I was immediately pleased when I learned that Belinda's consultation fee was a fraction of our other designer, as well Belinda saved me 20% immediately on the BB Bargoons fabric I needing to purchase that day. As of June our family has purchased numerous furniture pieces through Belinda, all the pieces that were purchased where done through the direct wholesaler at a fraction of the retail price. For example on a couple: Our Sons bed retails for 1795.00 American excluding taxed, and Belinda was able to get it custom made with designer fabric for 1638 taxes included. Our carpet wholesaled at 1999.00 and we got it for 20% less. So again to the readers looking into Belinda, this is one side to the story and in my personal experience I've had no such instances of "price gouging or inconsistencies", all the prices I've paid have been fair, and all that has been purchased I have agreed to because they are consistent with those of market value. I also want to add that a couple of people that I know who used Belinda (however have not wrote a response), and they to are very pleased with her work. Thank you Belinda, our home is beautiful!

Timothy I have used you in the past and I will always and only use you in the future. I thank you for inspecting the electrical work that our basement contractors failed to do properly; if it wasn't for you we could have had a serious fire. I trust you and I am thankful for your low prices and not trying to get rich off one but the small markup over the many. You are always welcome in our home. There are many reasons why I do not recommend Mei Wah Construction. The first of many reason are that one, the father could not speak English so communication was through the son Keon, who not only showed up late but never listened to our requests for our basement renovation. Other reasons include that they built 2 walls in the wrong locations and to fix their mistake they requested more money. They also built a wall over our water on/off switch, cut the tube that drains the washing machine and failed to seal it properly so there is water damage to the floor and drywall, they did not put a heat vent in washroom and began to tell me that there would be enough heat from the furnace room that is beside the washroom that miraculously the heat would come through the walls. The walls that they built were not straight, where the walls meet the ceiling the seams are all crocked because failed to use a level. Most of their taping was visible, there is rippling on ceiling, and in the bathroom they attempted to use regular drywall tape to tape the shower stall and not the proper waterproof tape required. They began to take up another contracts and said they were delayed on my job because they were waiting for me to get the supplies, however when I purchased everything they requested with in a few days of them asking they never even used the materials till the end. When I demanded they not lay the hardwoods until after they fixed the rippled walls and after the tiles were laid in the bathroom they ignored my request and began to lay it anyways. We ended up terminating the contract and at that time they attempted to remove all the doors and trim which we paid for. Do not use this company, they are inexperienced and do not use the proper tools for the job. They might be cheaper because they demand cash for under the table work, but in the long run you will pay.
