We had Western Canadian come in and do a furnace cleaning as well as install a new humidifier. At the time we were happy with the installation and the service. However, the following week our furnace stopped working. The Western Canadian furnace technician came and found a piece of cardboard from the old furnace filter that had ripped off and jammed in the furnace fan. This caused the motor to burn out, and resulted in a $700 invoice to replace it. This piece of cardboard ended up in the fan because the old filter was not removed carefully when the original cleaning was done the week before. They should have at least double checked to make sure that nothing had ripped off when pulling out the old filter. Our furnace is relatively new and would not have broken without this piece of cardboard getting stuck in the fan. I have called multiple times and sent emails to Western Canadian with my concern. I have asked to speak to the manager, but my calls and emails have not been returned. I am frustrated by the extra expense this cost our family, and the poor customer service at Western Canadian Furnace Company. I would definitely not recommend this company.
