When we first discovered that our roof problem was not a simple leak but damaged skylights, Ranieri explained the problem thoroughly and with numerous pictures he took from his vantage-point on the roof. Once we made a decision on how to move forward, he sprang into action – in our case replacing two skylights which was not part of the plan . To protect our roof and ceiling from further damage while the skylights were on-order, Ranieri sealed the holes as if he were doing it permanently. This kept us dry through the heavy rains of the fall including Hurricane Sandy! Ranieri also replaced a section of our roof which is flat. Before he started we reviewed all of the deficiencies that left the roof compromised by the original builder. We now have a high-tech, heat-sealed roof with properly installed flashing, drip-edge and caulking. His price was better than other quotes we had received (which did not include the flashing) and he did or supervised all the work himself. At one point Ranieri received a special price offer from Velux, one of his skylight providers and considered to be the highest quality available. He was able to get them for us in custom sizes at a 50% discount. I know this was just lucky timing, but when he presented us with the cost of the Skylights it was with the invoice from the manufacturer. He didn’t mark-up the cost at all! We have now asked Ranieri to do some other work for us during the Winter when roofing is difficult. Sometimes you get lucky and meet the right people for the job. This was definitely one of those times.
