As a home inspector, I see bad roof installations regularly. When it was time to do replace the shingles on my house, I contacted Roofs on Homes. I saw them working on a home in my area. It was clear to me that they did quality work. I asked for a quote and told them what I was looking for. The quote was fair and the work was done the right way. I have used Rick's services several times for my rental property. He is reliable, honest, great to deal with and his rates are fair. He has also provided me with maintenance tips and other very useful advice on numerous occasions for my washers, dryers and dishwasher. I have used Vigilarm for various upgrades and changes through out the years. When I bought my home back in 1999, the previous owners told me who they used Vigilarm to install the alarm system. I have used Traditional hardwood Flooring on a few different projects. Their workmanship on new installs and refinishing is simple awesome. Extremely professional throughout the entire process. I have also referred them to my clients and friends. Balasz and his team brought my old beat up hardwood flooring to look like a brand new install. I didn't think it was possible. I recently hired Better Contracting to replace the shingles on the roof. The service was great. Thew crew that did the install were skilled, friendly and kept the house clean during the entire time. The job was done completed on time. They were easy to deal with through the entire process. They were fairly priced. I did get a few quotes. Ultimately Better Contracting offered me a more than the competition. I'm a home inspector, it's my job to pay attention to detail. I can honestly say that their workmanship was great. I recently contacted Slavic at Control Air for a furnace repair. He did no disappoint. He gave me a 1 hour window period for time of arrival and was he was on time. The cost for the repair was fare and the service was excellent. I used to hire one of the bigger company's for furnace service and repair. What I usually got was a 4 hour window period and a junior tech that came to service the furnace. Not to mention the up sell's on items I didn't need. I have some knowledge with furnaces. The constant poor service and up-selling for repairs I didn't need was frustrating. Contacting Slavic at Control Air just proves that an independent experienced tech is much better than those bigger,well marketed company's. I would never go back. The tenants in our condo notified us that both the dishwasher and washing machine were not working. We didn't know a reliable contractor in the appliance repair business and so we turned to HomeStars to find someone. I called Rick from AC Appliance Repair and he went to look at the problem the next day. I was not able to meet with him in person, but he stayed in touch with me by phone throughout the entire process and kept me up to speed. He was punctual, very courteous and, according to our tenants, he did a great job. He was able to troubleshoot the problems and fix them quickly. He was also very fair with his pricing. I was a bit nervous calling someone I did not know. But, this call ended up working out extremely well. I will definitely keep Rick's number handy and I know several friends who are always looking for an appliance repair guy. Now I know a name I can forward to them. Thank you, Rick!
