Be careful when specifying materials and you need to stay on top of deficiencies with MOJ Contracting. We had a shed built and new railings installed for the front of the house. Despite the contract stating that the material for the shed would be cedar the material actually used was pine. When we questioned Lionel about using pine his excuse was that cedar was not available in the widths required. Regarding railings for the front of the house we exchanged photos specifying the type we wanted however he used a different product than what was originally specified. This is not the product we wanted but by this time we just wanted to finish the project. In addition the original contact included a job that the contractor declined to do 3 months into the project (eyebrow window). While the final invoice did reflect an adjustment for work not done, there was no indication that the work would not be attempted – we only found out when we asked about it. Now we’re left to find another contractor to finish the work on the house. In the end everything looked fine but as there is a lack of attention to detail requiring several calls to point out and correct deficiencies.

We are sorry that you did not get complete satisfaction during your recent project. We unfortunately had to substitute the material for the shed from cedar to pine and to compensate we primed the shed, at no cost to you. As for the eyebrow window, as explained, the height of your residence is taller than we are comfortable working on, and were in the process of finding a suitable roofing company that could complete this job. But as you said you wanted the project completed, so we cancelled our search and reduced our final invoice a suitable amount to cover the work. As you said, in the end everything looks fine. We strive to appease all our clients and are sorry we could not succeed with your project.
