We've been with Gabriel and his team since 2015 (finding him through Homestars) starting with Spring and Fall Clean-ups, weed control, work on the front and back gardens, and weekly lawn maintenance. From our first meeting, Gabriel always shows up when he says he will, he is very thorough in his work, he has hired very good people to work with him, and he offers very fair pricing to go along with his excellent service. He always communicates with you about what he is going to do, or has done, and we come back to him each year because of his excellent service. We highly recommend him.

I found Gabriel and his company, SNG Landscaping, on Homestars. Given all his great reviews, I called him and arranged for him to check out my lawn. He showed up exactly when he said he would, and he spoke very knowledgeably about the condition of my lawn, and what it required. His pricing was fair and reasonable, and he showed up to do the spring cleaning when he said he would. He did an excellent job, and so I also engaged him for the weekly lawn cutting/maintenance service for the rest of the season. I highly recommend Gabriel and SNG Landscaping.

I've used Homestars numerous times in the past (windows, wet basement, new driveway) and have always had excellent contractors as a result. So when we needed a landscaper, I naturally went to Homestars again, and found that I really appreciated what others had written about Jay and his team at Green Side Up. We had a backyard that was overrun by weeds and was in desperate need of re-sodding. We also wanted the front and back gardens looked after, as well as weekly lawn service. Jay is an honest and forthright guy who is passionate about what he does - this is evident the moment you meet him, and as the work went on, he never loses his passion! He delivered a very fair quote and guaranteed excellent service. Whenever i’ve emailed Jay about a question or two, he responds very quickly - great service is clearly a key part of his business, and he truly delivers on it. We now have had much of the work done already (the resodding of the back, the gardens front and back look wonderful now, as well as spring clean-up completed and his high-end fertilizer put down - lawns are a lush green now) and the weekly service provided by Grant and his crew is thorough, and they leave the place very clean before they go. They always show up when they say they will, and they always do a thorough job. I’m very happy with Jay and his whole crew, I look forward to being with them a long time, and having found them on Homestars, I’m very happy and confident in recommending them to other Homestar users.

I searched Homestars site for the top-rated contractors, having had success with the site before. Joe offered a fair price, and an excellent job. While we had to live thru days that were too hot to pave this (early) summer, Joe communicated constantly, with quick and thorough replies at all times. His team is highly professional, they show up exactly when they say they will, and they clean thoroughly throughout the job. We tried spending more, asking Joe about doing a brick and stone border around the driveway, and though this would have created a greater sale for him, he strongly advised us against spending this extra money, due to the winter/spring freeze/thaw that we experience so much in this climate. He explained that long-term, in our Canadian winter-climate, it is not a wise investment. We listened to his advice, and we are happy that we did. For his professionalism and skill-level at getting the job done thoroughly and on-time, we very highly recommend Joe and his team at Ludwig.

Update in 2015: In 2012 we did many of the windows in our house: the upstairs, basement, and kitchen patio door. At the time I searched through Homestars, and we decided on Clera. The job was excellent, and we’ve since lived with the windows for the past three years, and we’re very happy with them still. In January 2015 we decided to do the rest of the windows, which were all large windows, including a bay window. I got quotes from a few Homestars contractors, as well as Clera. We decided to stay with Clera as we not only had had a great experience with them, but we had also been living with their windows for 3 years already. Their Jan 2015 quote was fair and reasonable, and Frank is an excellent representative of their company. He is highly responsive, communicates very well, and always follows through. The installation team is highly efficient, and are clearly very skilled at what they do. They also left the house very clean after all the work was done. After three years and two different installations, and now having changed all the windows in the house with Clera, I feel very comfortable in highly recommending them. ============================================== I spent a lot of time (and reading on this site as well) in trying to find a company for our windows. Thru this process, I decided I wanted a local manufacturer who does their own installs - and NOT a contractor who installs someone else's product. I arrived at Clera windows as our pick, and thru the whole process it was a very pleasant experience. There was no pressure at any time, and the negotiation (pricing) process was open, fair, and now a month after the installation, I also feel was a reasonable and fair price. We feel we got value for what we spent. The windows were installed mid-August 2012, 8 weeks after the purchase (which is what was quoted in June when we signed) and we truly love them. The installers were highly professional, quick yet thorough. Even the caulking, which they use EXTENSIVELY, was of a very high quality. Clean-up was thorough, and they were very friendly all-throughout. We had a couple minor issues with 2 screens about 3 weeks later, and the sales manager, Frank, came to our the house the next day, removed them back to the factory for the required adjustment, and then returned them on a Saturday. All through-out, we never felt pressured, and the installation and post-installation process were smooth, and continue to be so. I highly recommend Clera, for their product, installation and post-service, and I believe we got value for the money we invested.
