i came across iMove by a random search for Richmond Hill movers on google about a month ago. Our 1 bedroom condo was sold and had to be vacated by April 15th. We would get posession of our new house in June and therefore required storage for the time being. I made the reservation by phone and we chose a 3 man option over 2 to make things go faster and since there was no minimum required it seemed to be a more cost-efficient option. Although iMove does not operate their own self storage, their office found a unit close to our future residence in Etobicoke and we received our 1st month for free which works out be $350.00 savings for us (on a 10x30 unit). The move itself took a little longer than expected, however, I asked for every single piece to be blanket-wrapped before putting into storage. Since we were doing the move-out 2 months later, iMove allowed us to keep the blankets for time being without any surcharge. Overall the move went very well and the crew was more than friendly, especially, when comparing to our previous experience from a few years ago. 10 being perfect, i would rate our move at 9 in terms of labour. Unfortunately the crew was not equipped for taking my Visa so i will rate the overall experience at 8. However, i am sure this will be resolved by our move out.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $45,000.00
- What could this company do to improve their services?
- Open their own storage.
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- We did not do a home estimate, however, we have moved before and knew what to expect. Communicate and explain all the details involved (access restrictions, elevator times, closing time, if someone is moving in same day) to avoid a bad experience. Book ahead of time, especially during summer time!
