Regretfully some of the facts in the last comment are true, There were corrections that needed to be made in order to pass the final grade, and yes I was unable to contact the customer back immediately after the notice of failure was givin by the inspector. At that time I was givin a 2 week window to have the property corrected so there were no extra costs associated to the project and that the home owners landscaping deposit would be returned by the builder.
The reason for not getting back to the customer immediately was because, and I say this with deep regret, but the owner and founder of the company Catherine Mary Kennett passed away at the age of 55 after a long battle with breast cancer on Aug 28 2012.
After dealing with internal company and family issues stemming from the loss of the companies founder, I had made contact with my customers from my ongoing and upcoming projects to follow up on status and timelines of completion. I had let my customers know that I was sorry for the delay in there projects and that I would have them fixed up and completed on the time we had initially discussed in our consultations.
The job was completed to spec, there was a final grade certificate granted to the customer and the deposit was returned to the home owner in full. There were no extra charges to the home owner for any of the work or materials needed to come back and fix the issues, from my company or from the inspector.
