I called DrainCom for a blocked drain after reading reviews on HomeStars. Alex arrived promptly and snaked the drain. He made sure to clean up the entire work area, which I appreciated. He also took the time to answer my questions regarding the sewer pipes outside the house. Finally, he made sure all the sinks and toilets were in working order prior to leaving since I had a concern about another drain. I would highly recommend Alex and DrainCom for prompt and courteous service.

I called DrainCom for a clogged shower drain. Valentyn showed up promptly (actually asked if he could come earlier which was even better). He took care of the clogged drain quickly and efficiently and asked for paper towels and a bag to clean up the mess that inevitably happens when snaking a drain. He not only left the shower and surrounding area as clean as possible but also took the time to remove his shoes upon entering my house. I noticed this because just prior to Val coming, another person had come for another job and walked over the carpets with his dirty shoes. I would certainly call DrainCom again for any plumbing issues. Valentyn did a great job and at a fair price.

I was impressed by the level of service provided by Andy Aluminum. They quickly answered my request for an estimate then arrived, as promised, to do the job. When there was a delay on the job site, due to no fault of theirs, they came back as soon as the other problem was fixed to finish the job. My final cost was exactly as quoted despite their having to replace more wood than anticipated due to rot damage. When Anthony heard that I was going to contact a pest removal company to install mesh over the new soffit because I was worried about raccoons destroying it, he told me not to spend my money on that and he gave me a written guarantee against animal intrusion - saving me money. I would highly recommend this company for prompt, efficient and friendly service.

Troy did a great job of removing a mother raccoon and her babies from my attic and then installing wire mesh around vulnerable points of my home. I had wire mesh in place but when the soffits needed replacing so did the mesh. Troy both answered my call and did the job promptly. He also suggested other products which I could use but did not pressure me into choosing anything. I would recommend his company for animal removal and wire mesh installation.

I needed 6 windows replaced (3 very large and 3 regular) in January. Tony was easy to deal with and prompt in both his estimate and completion of work. There was no mess and the windows have performed beautifully so far. Tony took extra care to fix the bow window which, as it turned out, was slanted due to the age of the house. The window looks straight and is well sealed. While on site, Tony also fixed a back door which had been previously damaged. His cost to fix it was very reasonable and he did not try to talk us into getting a whole new door. Tony's estimate for the project was in the middle of all the estimates we got and I would not hesitate to use his company again.

We recently used Ambia to do a brick to brick installation of most of our windows and a patio door. We had met with several highly rated window/door companies and found Ambia’s pricing – albeit not the cheapest - to be, in our opinion, the best value for money. Our salesperson, Janna, took her time to answer all our questions and give us suggestions as to the type of window to use. The windows arrived on time, as promised, and Igor and his team were excellent when it came to installation. They went above and beyond by helping us replace the interior blinds. They also took extra care with replacing our older outside shutters. We would definitely recommend this company to anybody looking for good service and great products. In fact, we had sound reducing windows installed in the master bedroom and what a difference it has made! They get a 10 out of 10 from us.

We moved into our house 2 years ago and soon realized we needed a new roof. Since this was going to be a costly project, we got about 8 quotes- all from reputable roofing contractors. Tom from Mega City Roofing took the time time to go on the roof and show us what needed to be done (unlike one service rep who did not even bother going onto the roof and then rushing through his sales pitch). Tom's quote was the middle of our estimates but I liked that he took the time to come back and speak to my husband who had other questions prior to deciding on which company to use. Tom was very friendly and patient and answered all the questions we had. He gave us a time when he would start and he kept to his word. The job took 1 day to complete. I was impressed by his crew who were courteous and meticulous in their clean-up. After a long day on the job, they saw that our side gate had come off its hinges (it had happened a while back) and they fixed it for us at no cost since they said they had the tools with them. How kind! Tom had mentioned that we should look into a new chimney cap. We asked him to purchase one for us and put it on. He said he would do so and to send him a cheque for the cost since I wasn't sure if I would be home when he came. It so happens that I was at home and able to pay him but I was impressed that he trusted us to send him the payment. When we first spoke to Tom at the beginning of this project, he said that he had been using Gaf products for many years. At the time of our meeting, he was not a certified installer. However, we told him that we would like him to become a certified installer because we intended on applying for their System Plus warranty and could only do so if the roof were installed by a certified installer. Tom had planned to become certified but hadn't had the time to do so. It didn't take long for him to get his certification since the Gaf people knew him and his work. After completing our roof, Tom sent in the necessary papers and we received our warranty thereafter. Prior to embarking on this project, I had done a lot of research on the type of roof we needed, the products we wanted, the various warranties available, and methods of installing roofs. A neighbor of ours decided to also do their roof and use whomever we had chosen due to all my research. Their roof was done the day after ours and they were also happy with the job. A couple of people have since asked me for a recommendation and I have given them Tom's name. It is not everyday that you come across an honest person who is a pleasure to deal with. Our new roof went on in May 2012 and we have had some pretty heavy rain since then. It is now September and we are still dry! Thanks Tom.
