Paramount does landscaping for building and has done so for some time now. The gardens don't get watered regularly and as a result plants and dying grass have died. In the winter season snow removal not done in a timely manner. Would not recommend this company.

It is very hard for us to reply to this review because "J in Burlington" could be one of our some 500+ customers we deal with but I can respond generically to your review. We don't water gardens and grass, which is a home owner's responsibility. Snow removal is a very misunderstood profession, there is what the customer expects and what is written in our contract that we supply and have signed. We very rarely receive complaints about our snow removal service and when we do 90% of the time these expectations are outside the terms of the agreement. We try and educate our customers about the contracts before having them sign to make sure they understand the stipulations. In most cases the complaining individual was not available or misunderstood the guidelines.

I have recently taken on more responsibility at work and as a result don't have as much time to spend cleaning my home. Now I am a very neat person as it is, so was looking for a cleaning company to come into my home and do just that, clean (not wipe things down but really clean). I emailed a few company's in the area, and decided to go with Maid of All Work because the initial communciation with them was clear and timely. They also cover the Burlington, Oakville and Milton area, so I had assumed that with high standards of living in these cities that this company would be used to having high standards of clean. The company told me it would take 3 hours to clean my home, which is what they did 3 hours and the 2 cleaning ladies said that it was plenty of time. I took pictures of what my house looked like after the clean and would not even consider the work done on my home to even "meet any standards of clean." Under my dining room table wasn't dusted, bathroom shower not even touched, top of fridge not touched, corners and edges of floors not swept, bathroom mirror not cleaned just to name a few. So I took pictures of my home and immediately sent them to Caroline the owner expressing my disatisfaction with the service. Caroline said that they would give me a free hour the next time I pay for at least another hour or 2. I would not pay another penny to that company after having already spent $140.00 to have a cleaning company clean a less than 1500sq ft home with 2 empty rooms in it and getting a less than satisfactory job done. After going back and forth with Carol a few times to rectify the situation, she insisted that I should pay to use their service again. I was finally offered a refund for 1 hours worth of work $45.00 which I accepted. Would not give another dime to a company to redo what should have been done properly the first time. Would not use or recommend this company again.

We have reviewed the correspondence we had with you and note that you accepted and seem pleased with our solution to send you a refund.
We had recommended more time to accomplish your housecleaning when you initially inquired about our services. We honoured your wishes and scheduled the reduced hours by your request. Although we had felt we needed more time, we mailed a monetary reimbursement of 35% of your total bill. I would welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with you. We would like to know what changed and left you unhappy.
We see from other reviews you wrote that day that there were other companies you were displeased with. All service industries benefit from feedback, whether it is positive or not. Once again, we would welcome clarification, because in order to improve we need to better understand where we fell short.

I live in a town house complex and heard my neighbour having trouble with squirrels chewing underneath her window and getting into her home and building a nest. I didn't think I had a problem...until my neighbour came over and showed me the holes underneath my window sill. I called about 7 Pest Control Services in the Hamilton/Burlington area, and was surprised at the lack of patience in being able to answer my questions over the phone and $550 + cost just to come out and put a trap. One company wanted me to pay them $350 just to come and look at the problem. Jim was soooo patient with me over the phone and polite, more polite than the cell phone company I call and pay over 100$ a month for (you know what I'm talking about). Now I am perfectionist and ask a lot of questions...he was soooo calm on the phone before he came and explained everything. Then when he came he was very polite and calm, and made me feel 110% comfortable with what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. Day 1 - He set a trap. Day 2 - Came and put a one way door over the hole and mesh under all window sills. Day 3 - Came back, caught all the squirrels, foamed the area and coveredit all up with steel netting. What I liked most was that he didn't just come once and leave me with the problem for a week. He came and within 3 days the squirrels were caught and holes covered. This is the type of service you need, when you are in a panic about the state of your home, and the animals making the situation worse. When you are stressed about the animals returning or the problem not getting fixed, Jim stays calm and comes right away. This is the guy you need, for all the perfectionists and people who love their homes. He's like buying a brand name purse at a Winners price!!!! :)
