Kurt Trapler in Saskatoon

On July 9th 2012 I booked through Dominion Carpet Cleaning in Saskatoon, the cleaning of a rental property. I was quoted approximately $200.00 for a 1300 square foot house, much of which was not carpeted. I was extremely disappointed with their service. The company told me that they would arrive between 10am and 12noon, phoning myself 1/2 hour prior to arrival. At 1155am, no call was received, I had to phone their dispatcher and was told "he just finished a job and is on his way." On his way was an additional 40 minutes, for an arrival time of: 1240pm. I understood the phone quote was approximately $200.00, this quote quickly mushroomed to $350.00, for "extras" ie: they said that I did not tell them the bedroom had closets, so they charged extra for the closets. WHAT BEDROOM DOESNT HAVE CLOSETS. On speaking with the Carpet Technician, he got verbally abusive when I questioned him on his tardiness, lack of contact, and overpricing. He yelled at me, and told me to speak to the company representative, and hung up the phone on me, as I was offsite at the time. When I phoned, the woman I spoke to, apologized for this person yelling, but did not do anything to adjust the price. Finally the advertisement in the phone book clearly stated they take Credit Cards, the technician stated he would only accept cash. I had to phone the company again to get them to tell the technician to accept the credit card as in the phone book add...I was wondering why the technician only wanted cash...very bizarre. Bottom line: 1) Price Quote on the phone almost doubled on actual assessment. 2) Company was extremely tardy and did not make any efforts to call or update 3) Technician raised his voice and was verbally abusive and hung up the phone. 4) Technician demanded only cash payment, which was fishy, and the company had to phone him to tell him to accept credit card payment. Bottom line, the Yellow Pages Advertisement for Dominion Carpet Cleaning in Saskatoon states that they have been in business for over 19 years. I have no idea HOW?? They rude treatment, rapidly escalating costs, and sketchy behaviour in refusing credit card payment demanding only cash, speaks to a company whose practices are questionable. I would NEVER recommend this company. As to their work, they were only in the home for 40 minutes. The carpet was soaking wet, and had to be retouched by the technician to get the extra moisture out. Understandably carpets are damp when cleaned, but not running with water like a river. As for stain management, they were less than satisfactory in removal of the overall dirt and grime in the heavily trafficked areas. Not all stains came out and they made no apologies for their lack of ability, or attempts to correct their shoddy removal of dirt and grime. On a scale of 0 - 10 for service/professionalism/overall work done: 0. Flat out 0. Complete waste of money and time. DO NOT USE. DO NOT RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
