Muskoka Contracting did two projects at The Summer House on Taylor Island in Lake Muskoka. They installed six footings, constructed the platform and assembled a pre-fabricated Monarch Bunkie as well as converted a screened-in-porch to a winterized room. Both projects were well constructed by service friendly workers. Challenges were met with a can do attitude and effective problem solving. We would be delighted to work with them again should the opportunity arise.

On returning from a few days away, we noticed water seeping into the front of the basement and a loud hissing sound coming from the water meter. The city confirmed that a water leak was coming from our portion of the intake. We sought out a contractor on Homestar and identified Strong Plumbing. Val from Strong came to quote on the job within 24 hours, quoted a price, to which we agreed. His team arrived later that day, and completed the work as quickly, professionally and neatly as we could have wished. As part of our research, we decided it would make sense to put in a backwater valve (subsidized by the city) as the work was going to be in the same area as the water intake. Val helped us with arranging the details for the building inspector and gave a small discount for the work that was avoided by doing the work in the same area. On the second visit to install the backwater valve, his team were equally as professional as they were on the first visit. We were delighted with all the interactions with Strong Plumbing and wouldn't hesitate to us them again.

At our daughter's recommendation, we purchased a Carrier furnace from David Frost at Belyea. Mike and Julio arrived as scheduled, installed the furnace and thermostat, cleaned up, explained how it worked. Professionalism and courtesy marked every detail of the purchase. Well done Belyea!
