JT in Markham

Almost two years ago now my spouse and I decided that we would go all out and do a complete driveway and patio project. After talking to our friends, neighbors and family that have done similar projects one name kept coming up. Elite Designed Concrete! We check out their fantastic website and were impressed and really inspired by what we saw and what we realized was possible. We got on the phone and were immediately able to speak with Rafi. We were able to quickly and effortlessly arrange an appointment with him. He arrived promptly and we got down to it. Rafi was immediately able to see that we didn’t just want something ordinary and that we really did want to do the entire external area of our home i.e. driveway, walkway to front, entry/steps/porch, side walkway, patio and area for our shed. Rafi was able to put me at ease with his extensive knowledge and experience. I had a lot of questions and concerns about Concrete vs. stones specifically in terms of safety and cracking. He was able to provide me with all the details I needed as well as put my mind at ease with Elite Designed Concretes two-year warranty. As we discussed the actual design Rafi suggested we go have a look at some of the other projects that they had done in the area to get an idea of what look we could get and what the color possibilities were. We did our “tour” and new what would work for us. When we were ready Rafi came over again and we quickly settled on a very reasonable price and were told the exact schedule we could expect. He even managed to include the weather into the schedule for the first week. When it was time for the project to start that was when we met Marcello. He quickly got us started and even worked with me to refine our design so that a) it looks great and b) it followed all the new bylaws that Markham had put in place at that time. He was able to get the nice clean big driveway we wanted while creating the beautiful landscape we were looking for including trees and garden walls etc. Marcello and his guys did everything. They moved plants and containers, they moved all our outdoor furniture, they even moved the shed and removed the old platform we had it on. They quickly pulled out the old patio slabs and removed the driveway. They took all the garbage with them and even made the required calls to Markham township to allow the dumpster on the street as well as allow our cars to be parked on the street. We went to maximum depth on the concrete and steel reinforcement and the guys followed the exact plans we came up with. Following the contours of the landscape where we wanted and exactly flat where we wanted. Once everything was done (about two weeks, though most of the work was done in 3 days; 1 days to move everything and remove old driveway and patio, 1 day to put in reinforcement and pour concrete, stamp color etc, the last for cutting and sealing etc). Also, once everything was done the guys added soil to our garden wall area as well as landscaped trees etc. They put the plants back. They moved everything back as well in the backyard including our shed and its contents. Then they fixed up our grass as well. Some areas did suffer as they were covered when we had to move things around. Once they were done everything was perfect. This year I called up Rafi after I noticed some minor issues he quickly sent people over to correct everything I mentioned and then we resealed everything. No muss no fuss. So all in all it was an almost effortless activity for us. And the results are fantasic. Our neighbors love it (there are always people coming around during their evening walks to have a look at it). Our family love it too. Rafi and Marcello were a pleasure to work with and the results speak for themselves. The real dream team!! Anytime I have any work like this these are my goto guys.
