We moved in to our house in January, and one of the things that definitely needed attention was the front steps and walkway. They were made up of field stone, but the masonry had started to crumble. To make matters worse, the previous owners decided to "solve" the problem by smearing cement all over the stones, rendering them unsalvagable. After reading the numerous positive reviews on Homestars, I contacted Chris with Iberia Landscape Services. Some of the other companies we got out for estimates wanted to rip the entire walkway out, even the parts that weren't damaged! (Hmm...) Chris said that the undamaged parts of the walkway looked good, and they should be able to match the stones pretty closely where repairs were needed. It was his honesty and concern for what we wanted that won me over. His crew... what can I say about them? Extremely hard-working and dedicated (to say the least). A couple of our neighbours were commenting on how impressed they were with their work ethic. They had to hand-chip the stones down to the foundation to remove them. The weather wasn't cooperative, either (actually it was horrible). They were out early every day and worked diligently. In the end, the result is FANTASTIC! I love our new steps. They were able to pretty much perfectly match the stones. They did a great job and I'd not only recommend them, but I'd also hire them again for any other landscaping projects. Thanks Iberia!

When we bought our new house, we knew that some electrical work was required. (Garage wiring was poor, some light fixtures were hanging by their wires, and the fridge was running on a circuit that had about 15 plugs and 5 lights.) After obtaining several quotes, we called Steve from CLI Electric. Steve was very professional and we were confident in hiring them. On the day that we scheduled it for, Steve and Adam came by to do the work. Adam was also very respectful, polite and extremely hard-working. I was expecting that, in the course of running a dedicated electrical line to the refrigerator, they'd have to smash the walls. Nope, I was wrong. They cut neat circular discs out of the wall to run the wire, and they were able to run it up behind a closet wall. The wall repair was made easy because of that. The light fixtures look great, and they even found an easy solution because I goofed up and bought a fixture that didn't quite fit. And the garage needed extensive work - replacing some receptacles, putting wires into proper conduits, etc. The end result looks great and is fully up to code! They worked a 12-hour day in chilly conditions. My wife and I were both very impressed. CLI Electric exceeded our expectations. They are hard-working, very professional and do high-quality work. I'd strongly recommend them to anyone. Thanks CLI!

My wife and I bought a house in December of 2011, and had to arrange for a home inspection. We found Brent Jeffreys of Classic Home Inspections here on HomeStars. Due to our work constraints, neither my wife nor I could be present during the home inspection (really unfortunate), but one of my relatives was able to go. My relative (retired from CMHC with an extensive background in housing/home issues) said Brent was, without exaggeration, the best home inspector she's ever seen. Brent was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and very thorough. He checked out all of the appliances, got up and spent an extensive amount of time in the attic, walked all over the roof (and it was raining), and was able to put together a comprehensive report on the good and the bad. Actually, on one occasion Brent's report saved us from being ripped off by an unscrupulous contractor! Although there were some minor issues with the house, we were able to buy it with confidence because of the information in the report. If you ever need a home inspector who knows what he's doing, is very thorough and reliable, look no further than Brent.

Shortly after moving in to a new house in January, we discovered there were some unwanted residents: Cockroaches. After reading the reviews on Homestars, we called Pesticon. Waheed asked a few questions, and assured me that the problem could be taken care of. He came a day later. Coincidentally, just minutes before he arrived, one of those disgusting little bugs ran out into the hallway where I trapped it under a glass. Waheed, who is very knowledgeable, identified it immediately. Treatment was done quickly and painlessly, and he answered all of the questions that I had. He explained that the roaches may appear over the next 15 days, but after that they should be gone. Since the 15 days (and it's been a couple of months), we haven't seen a single cockroach! This was in comparison to seeing one or two a day before we called Pesticon. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Pesticon to anyone. If we ever have any other pest problems (hopefully not, but it could happen), we will be calling Pesticon. Thanks Waheed!
