When we purchased our home in Ottawa, we were so excited, but we were overwhelmed when we realized the amount of work it needed. Our project involved structural repair, new addition, and the finishing of 4 bedrooms with closets, a laundry room, a guest bath, a master bath, and a walk-in closet. We weren’t sure how we were going to manage such a significant renovation alongside our hectic family and work lives. Blackwell Renovation’s team changed all of this for us. Even with our prior renovation experience, we had never experienced such a high level of professionalism and such attentive project management. To say that Blackwell goes above and beyond for their clients is an understatement. The team helped make our neighbours feel comfortable with the major construction project and they even gave them gift cards at Christmas to thank them for their patience! Throughout our renovation, (for the first time in our lives!) we did not have to worry about a thing. The entire process from start to finish was stress-free because the Blackwell team treated our renovation as though it was their own, and it showed. It was evident that the entire team was always thinking about the best way to meet our needs, forecast future problems, and find the most cost-effective solutions - all while ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship. We got the most beautiful custom cabinetry and flawless installation of hardwood and tiles – not a corner out of place. The baseboard and window/door trims are seamless. There truly was no detail left behind. Above all, everyone who came into our home was an absolute pleasure to work with and even had a great senses of humor to boot! We have now finished the first phase of our Renos and there is no one else we would trust to complete phase II. We are clients for life!

In 2015, we contracted Ontario Shake N' Tile to install KasselShake tiles on our home after they had done a great job installing the same product on our garage the year before. The installation experience was challenging (not what we had experienced with the garage installation) and it left us feeling like the company did not care about how much of our hard-earned dollars we had given them to provide a roof for our home. Since then, we have noticed that water is getting behind one of the walls and making its way onto our foundation. We are worried this has been happening since installation. Our siding is comprised of stucco and cedar and we have been up and down this wall sealing every joint and anything that even remotely resembles a pathway for water. We have asked Ontario Shake N' Tile to come and have a look to see if there is an issue with the installation, but they have refused claiming it is a maintenance issue. We are not sure how they are able to make that assessment without looking at the house. We are stuck as we don't have the time to take it apart ourselves to verify and we desperately want a resolution. Jeremy, I hope you read this and provide some assistance. We have spent a lot of money with your company and we are feeling like that is all you wanted. The customer service experience needs to be better.
