We hired Jon at Piece of Mind to lay our new hardwood floors in our home and were extremely pleased with the result. We purchased the product and Jon charged us $3 per square foot for a completely finished job including baseboard and quarter-round. Not only did he complete the installation as we requested but he also saved us a couple hundred dollars as opposed to the other quotes we received and some helpful suggestions that he made. Very professional, prompt, courteous and cost effective, Jon simply provided us with "peace of mind" concerning our home improvements. He exceeded our expectations with this project so much that we have decided to hire him on for some other projects around the house this spring. Thanks again Jon.

January 7th, 2005, Ulitmaterooms.ca started work on the complete renovation on the basement floor of our home on what was to be a 5-6 week job for what they claimed would be an “Ultimate Room”. This complete renovation originally included all walls, cabinetry, staircase, railings, moldings, wiring and plumbing including a three-piece bathroom, wet bar and a laminate floor. Ultimaterooms.ca ceased work three weeks into the job after two thirds of the money had been received and not a sheet of dry wall was in the house or put up on any walls, there was rubble everywhere and the workplace was an absolute mess and unsafe environment. Two weeks after I complained with repeated phone calls, they returned to revise their quote stating that they needed an additional funds to complete the renovation with some revisions to what they would actually be completing. This revision still included a new staircase of some make of wood, with railing, wet bar made from low-grade wood and sheet rock and click-laminate faux wood flooring. At this point, Domenic insisted that I pay the contractor directly as he had realized that he had perhaps, mis-quoted the job. The contractor continued to work on the basement and I paid he the remaining monies owed for said work until he felt that he had completed his commitment to the job, however he was adamant that he would only do what he felt he should have to do and not complete any work that Domenic committed to, which became obvious, was the staircase and the flooring. After several conversations, in person, at Domenic’s residence and by phone, it was left that Domenic had insufficient funds or credit to finish the renovation as both contractors were now blaming each other as to why funds for the project were mis-allotted or not applied properly. This, of course, was in the middle of May 2005, five months after the supposed six-week renovation started. Domenic also stated that he would make contact with me when he could secure what was needed to complete the job and I shouldn’t worry. To this date, no contact or attempt has been made to complete the job. We were left without a floor and molding for the support pole, quarter-round and incomplete baseboard. All the phone and cable jacks on that floor are useless because they incorrectly connected or used poor quality wire. On top of all that, we have exposed electrical and plumbing and were left with a completely unsecured, unbalanced staircase with no railings because they removed the previous. We won judgement and cost against the contractor but Domenic, the principal director of Ultimaterooms.ca, has filed for bankruptcy on August 22, 2007. This is all fact and not slander or hearsay.
