My daughter purchased a home with a rental hotwater heater. It took repeated phone calls to obtain the buyout amount for a 5+ year old water heater, and the buyout amount was 30% more than what a new heater costs. The frustration of dealing with the 'customer service reps' who wouldn't answer questions, but simply repeat canned speaking points equals my frustration at being taken advantage of on the buyout amount. I will never purchase another home with a rental appliance from Sandpiper, and ensure I tell all realtors I work with the reasoning.
