2nd floor window glass replacement
After 7yrs living in a brand new home, all the windows on our 2nd floor have moisture in between the glass panels; the cause is obvious, seal failure. The situation is so bad that almost all the houses on our street (same builder, so obviously same window manufacturer) have this issue. Being still covered under the 10yrs warranty I called Pollard and described the situation to them. Their basic response was "we don't care what how widespread this situation is, under the warranty policy you have to pay for the labor". I tried to argue with them that this is a manufacturing defect and Pollard should cover some of the cost if not all of it. On a side note, the service technician working for the Pollard recognized that the sealer used back then was faulty and in fact the sealer company went bankrupt back then. Pollard is one of the worst companies I've dealt with in terms of taking any responsibility and standing by their product. In a similar situation car companies issue a voluntary recall and do the repairs for free, but Pollard doesn't know better than blame us, the customers for the situation. I was basically told it's my fault that I have excessive moisture in my house. How they even determined that, I have no idea! Extremely disappointed by Pollard's take on this matter! We'll never buy anything from Pollard Windows, even if the competition is more expensive. In the end it's true you're getting what you're paying for, so think before you buy from Pollard Windows.

Dear Sir, there are a number of reasons why a seal can fail on a window. The number one reason with windows, which are the age of yours, is condensation. Unfortunately condensation can get down around the seal of a window and work away until the seal fails. The key is to moderate your humidity in the home such that you don't have a humidity/condensation problem. Use of a dehumidifier can be a huge benefit to keeping the moisture content in your air low. I personally have a 17 year old home with Pollard windows and have not had one seal failure. Pollard would be more than happy to come out and visit with you to review your specific situation. Pollard cares deeply about all of our clients, but there are factors which are simply beyond our control. We can't control your humidity or prevent you from using less favourable cleaning solutions which also tend to eat away at seals. You have made a number of false statements above and I would be more than happy to clarify for you and work with you. I look forward to your call.
