I wanted to improve the insulation and air sealing in the garage ceiling to make the bedroom above warmer and free of fumes leaking in from the garage. Healthy Home Center was one of three companies recommended to me by IAQ Ottawa to get estimates from. I selected Gabriel's because he best responded to my specifications, arranged with a professional spray foam company to do the insulation, and included a cost-saving feature. Gabriel and his polite and professional crew meticulously removed the existing materials in preparation for the spray foam application. Afterwards, they installed drywall and prepared it for painting. They were flexible in coordinating their work with visits by my electrician. I was going to do the painting myself, but they surprised me by doing it at no extra charge! The ceiling now looks good enough to be inside the house. They re-installed the shelving that had been moved out of the way using better supports and fasteners than the original. Gabriel even thoughtfully supplied much stronger hooks for my canoe, free of charge. There are no longer fumes leaking from the garage to the bedroom above, and I look forward to having a much cosier bedroom when the cold weather returns. Thank you, Gabriel and crew!!!

I hired Shawn to test for asbestos in materials to be removed for a garage ceiling insulation job (to remedy a cold bedroom above), but I received much more than that. He asked about my plans and advised what was worth doing and what was not. He drew on his experience to suggest that part of the problem might be due to short cycling of the furnace, and helped me to adjust the heat vents so that the thermostat would not turn the furnace off so soon, allowing more heat to get to the bedroom. He assisted me in developing specifications for the insulation job, recommended some contractors, and helped me choose the one to hire based on their proposals. Shawn knowledgeably answered lots of questions and explained many technical details along the way. He even offered to come back in the fall to check the results with thermal imaging! I now feel confident to proceed with the job and that I'll get a warm bedroom. Thank you, Shawn!
