We requested a written quote detailing the costs of the project and warranties. Mike Vaughan of Universal provided us a written quote just minutes before they started work. We were billed Aug 21/13 and paid the $4,000 plus taxes as quoted for the "total cost of the project" on Aug 22/13. Aug 28/13 we received another invoice (not an original but a faded copy of the original invoice) in the amount of $2,244.72 for charges that we were not informed of and never authorized. We requested for an explanation. Instead of an explanation from Mike Vaughan of Universal, two weeks later we receive a letter from Fraser Collection Services Limited requesting for payment of Universal's invoice dated Aug. 28/13. Universal's attempt to charge 53% more than what they said the job would cost is definitely not good business practice.

How many of us have monies put aside for emergencies? When my roof started leaking I didn't have enough $ for a new roof. A friend referred me to Brian and said he repaired her roof and her brother's roof. The repairs lasted a few years which bought them both time to save $ for a new roof. Brian did the same for me. He came out to look at my roof and suggested some repairs that extended my roof for a few more years. When it came time to install a new roof I did not hesitate to call Brian. His cost was reasonable (I did get two other estimates) and his crew was professional and efficient. The work was completed as scheduled. My neighbors were quite impressed by the quality and workmanship of the roof. I have and will continue to refer Brian of Capitol Roofing to my friends, colleagues and clients.

I was preparing for a move and needed a plumber to remove the connections on my gas stove, fridge w/ice maker, dishwasher, gas barbecue, washer and dryer. I found Zlatko of Wolf Plumbing on HomeStars website. Even tho' this was not a huge job I received five (5) star service. I am so impressed with his excellent customer service and easy going personality. Can you imagine a plumber who actually answers your call right away and charges the amount quoted even tho' the job took more time. I offered him more money for the extra time and extra work he did for me but he turned it down. Having a satisfied customer was more important to him than the money in his pocket. It is so refreshing and rare these days to receive superior service. I am a realtor and would not hesitate to recommend Wolf Plumbing to my buyers, sellers, colleagues, friends and family.

I woke up in the morning and noticed there was no heat so I called the company that installed my furnace. They said they can come late in the evening or the next day. It's winter and I did not want to go without heat for such a long period of time.
