Sam is very knowledgable. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue and welcomed me to view explaining the process as it went along. He is excellent at what he does and a great teacher. I would not hesitate to recommend his services to friends and family. I also found his fees to be very reasonable.

Home NRG was recommended to me by a representative working for the Mike Holmes Home Inspection Group that I hired to assess my house purchase in 2011. While the company is located a fair distance from my new home in Port Credit (Mississauga), the owner of the company did not hesitate to come to Mississauga to perform the energy audit. The information provided was clear. The recommendations made sense. The quote provided was fair. The work performed was excellent. Just before the company left my home, out of concern, they performed an additional test on the house as I'd added additional venting from our initial meeting. I was advised that an unsafe condition now existed and was strongly advised to replace my outdated gas water tank that vented thru the chimney with a more modern gas water tank so that carbon monoxide did not back draft and build up in my house. Within a few days, the gas tank was replaced. What I liked about Doug and his team is that they look at the big picture and are honest and fair in their approach to business and making sure you derive value from their services.

Hello Cheryl and thank you so much for the great review. It was a real pleasure dealing with someone like yourself who really wants to know why each step of the attic upgrade process is required and what impact each portion has on the long term performance of your home. There really is much more to an attic upgrade than just blowing some insulation on top of all the existing problem areas. The additional test you mention was a 'combustion spillage test' which should be performed in all houses where gravity vented gas/oil appliances or wood fireplaces etc are present. If there is a negative pressure of 5pa or higher obtained in the home when your exhaust devices are on the combustion gases can spill back into the home which can be very dangerous. The negative pressure in your home was very high at -12pa so I am very happy to hear that you switched out your hot water system. Thank you again, Doug
