Hot tub cover that never arrived
I purchased a hot tub cover in November 2019 from The Cover Brothers. I was told my cover would be ready for pickup from the manufacturer in 7-10 days. I asked about 8-10 days in for a status update and was told it was almost ready but may run a bit later than quoted as it was the busy season. I was ok with that. I understood. Then began the run around. Over the course of a few weeks, every time I contacted them I got another excuse as to why it wasn't ready. I finally got frustrated and contacted the manufacturer themselves to ask when it may be ready and they informed me there was actually no order placed. A few days later, the "owner" of Cover Brothers, Mike, suddenly messaged me saying he had no idea what was going on and the person who I had been in contact with was doing "bad business" and was fired but he would order me my cover. Once again, the untruths began. Mike kept saying the order was placed, but when I contacted the manufacturer, there was no order. (The manufacturer felt so horrible they actually gave me a similar cover that doesn't quite fit nor is the cover I ordered but can do the job for now.) Now over the course of Christmas break, the manufacturer has shut down. Mike says as soon as they open in the new year, he will place the order (I've heard this several times now!) . But alas, no order. Now he is saying I got my cover so it's done. Even though I have explained this is not the cover I ordered or paid for. On Facebook (my first mistake was finding his legit looking business on there!) I see there are others like me. Also check out the BBB. Wish I did first!
