Finish basement / whole house renovation
Sonoma (Mike and team) was our contractor for a whole house renovation that included the main floor and upstairs (3,200 sq. ft.) and turning our unfinished basement (1,500 sq. ft.) into a work of art. We will provide details on the renovation and our experience below but to get the point quickly, Mike and his team are fantastic, we highly recommend Sonoma for your renovation project and we cannot imagine anyone better for the job. Our renovation included finishing the basement to include laundry room (relocated from main floor), bathroom, bedroom, office, storage, playroom, and best of all sound proofing for our loud kids! Main/upstairs renovations included a kitchen remodel, mudroom, all bathrooms, hardwood throughout, all doors changed to solid wood, 100+ pot lights, ceiling fans, electrical work (wall sconces, more switches, dimmers, etc.), painted all rooms, etc. Mike patiently took notes on our ideas, listened to us, and thankfully contributed his experience that helped us focus our renovation. He created a work schedule that allowed us to live in the house during the renovations. We have two kids under the age of 5 and were worried about noise, disruption, etc. but his team took amazing effort to make the house as comfortable as possible for our kids and his team even scheduled their lunches around our kids nap time. Needless to say we were impressed and appreciative with the amount of consideration from his team! Sonoma helped to arrange our building drawings and worked with us through the City building permit process. Mike was also there for all City inspections to ensure our project was completed without delay. We were always informed through the process, the renovations were completed on time and on budget, and the workmanship is impressive. Mike and his team were bigger perfectionists than us, for those that know us this is no small feat. We are 100% comfortable recommending Mike and the Sonoma team.
