COST: -2 star During the execution of the work, it was discovered that the electrical wire cannot be installed using the exiting underground conduit. The alternative option is to install a new above ground conduit for the new electrical wire to come into the house. The cost of this scope increase is 11% of the total project. The company has agreed to provide me a discount of $100 after further negotiation. The company has cited that the majority of the cost is associated to the expensive material and no further discount can be provided (I have looked up the material cost and the companys claim does not add up). Due to the excellent service provided and the overall pleasant experience, I have decided not to pursuit further on the pricing disagreement. LESSONS LEARNT: During the estimation phase, the other electrician has identified the requirement of running the line above ground, but the companys mater electrician has provided re-assurance that no new conduit was required. I should have asked the company on the cost of running the electrical line above ground before signing the contract. OVERALL, the work is done with excellent care, but the final price is 19% higher than the lowest quote from another electrician. I will ask for more details next time but the electricians from this company is very good. As for your latest comment on my pricing comparison, it is based on two separate quotes, emailed to me, from two independent ESA certified electricians. I have doubled checked their license validity on the ESA website. You and the other two electricians are all listed as licensed ESA electricians therefore I deem them to have similar capability as your to executing my project. Thank you for a job well done.
