I would see their add in the Cambridge home coupon book that we get periodically, and it was an intriguing product that they offer so when it was time to do the countertop portion of our kitchen Reno earlier this year we checked them out to see what they had to offer. Their selection was great and I loved the fact that we didn't have to remove the old countertops. End result looked great, and great price.

We knew when we moved into our home that we would likely have to get new shingles sooner rather than later...but after the first hard rain in the spring, it turned out to be sooner! Luckily Cambridge Roofing helped us through this crisis. They were friendly, told us what needed to be fixed and what could wait, and overall I felt I could trust them to do a good job, which they did in the end. There was a minor problem which they resolved promptly. Highly recommended.

When we moved to our new home we hired this company to come out and re-key our front door deadbolt. They were quick, reasonably priced, and got the job done. Unfortunately, the door lock assembly broke about 6 months later (through no fault of cote's) and I had to replace it myself anyway. In hindsight I would recommend just replacing the lock in the first place. Either way, great fast service. I've had them cut a few keys for me that nobody else could do a well.

After some research, these guys offered the most competitive rates for delivery of bulk landscaping materials. I had built my kids a large sandbox so I needed about a yard of play sand delivered plus a yard of river rocks to put around my newly built shed and garden beds. They offered same day delivery, the delivery guy put the materials exactly where I wanted them (on a tarp and some plywood in my driveway) and I was overall pleased. Highly recommended.

I purchased and had them install laminate flooring for the entire main floor of my home minus one room. They did an excellent job and no real complaints. However, a year later I wanted to finish the last room with the same laminate and it was discontinued, but in stock at their Guelph location. I drove all the way there from Cambridge, got home, an discovered one box was a different colour. Luckily they had one box left in the colour I needed but I still had to make the trip there and back. In terms of the installation, I was very satisfied. As for the mistake with the colour, they gave me a discount and some free under pad. Though pricey, I would recommend.

Shopped around to get a good price on lawn aeration, these guys were the cheapest. Only a couple of minor concerns. 1) they didn't give me a definite day they could come, so I had to have my yard debris free and leave my gate unlocked for about a week. 2) and while not entirely their fault per se, but my neighborhood has really poor drainage and they came the day after a heavy rain while my lawn was still saturated and the heavy aerator left some ruts in the soil and muddy tracks everywhere. Overall, a fairly good job and would recommend them to others.

The water heater in our home developed a small leak at the top an I felt it was time to replace it as it was about 10 years old. I didn't want to buy another one, so I got a new rental unit installed by reliance. It was a forced vent gas water heater and when the technician came out he pointed out that our venting was no longer code and had to be replaced. However, the only practical spot he could run the new vent was covered by drywall and he refused to drill there because he said there might be electrical work behind it and he wouldn't wait while I did it. Long story short, I cut out a section of drywall in five minutes but had to wait two days (without hot water and two kids) for him to come back. Once installed, it worked fine. One minor complaint was that when drilling through our siding it cracked and a two inch section broke off. The guy was honest about it and simply caulked over it. Also instead of properly capping off the old vent, as he ran out of caps, he stuffed a little bit of insulation into it and fastened a bit of aluminum foil on the end. The outside vent had a grill to cover it and it kept popping out. I fixed it myself with glue. Overall, an OK job with room for improvement.

My original sump pump with a floating switch had the switch get stuck and I narrowly averted a major disaster as I caught it before my sump pit overflowed. Called Hammond, they came same day and swapped out the old pump and replaced it with a sump pump with a tethered switch. It looked ok until I tested it out and the water got to like 2 inches above the bottom lip of the inlet pipe which appeared to be a bit high. After some research I got mixed answers but most were saying it may have been a bit high. It made me uncomfortable to have water approaching that close to my foundtion floor. Having it lower would make the pump cycle more often, however my pump only ever kicks in during the spring thaw. At any rate, when I called to ask about it I got a mixed answer until I mentioned that I had them install it, then they said I would be ok. Had them do work before without any problems, though. I've had two different guys come out from the Cambridge location and the younger guy did a much better job when he came out, in my opinion.

I moved into my first home and was surprised to find a small foundation crack that our home inspector told us not to worry about had leaked after the spring thaw. I called these guys, they checked it out and repaired it from the inside. No more leaks afterward. However, the following spring after 4 solid days of rain we had a leaking crack on the other side of our house. At this point our basement was partially finished so this crack had to be repaired from the outside. To save money, I did the digging myself and they made me a deal to have two other cracks tht had no leaked yet repaired at a discount. They did the job, took pretty much a whole day, worked looked great and no leaking cracks ever since. Both jobs came with a lifetime warranty. Excellent friendly service, highly recommended.

I had them install a drip edge and extend a downspout over the overhang on my front porch. The gentlemen that came for my quote were very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. While their quote was high compared to some that I had gotten, I choose them because they seemed the most professional. They did the work in a reasonable amount of time, but I had noticed a couple issues afterwards. 1) The downspout extension they installed was a slightly different colour than the rest of the downspout. Not a HUGE deal...but they also didn't secure it to the eavestrough and the first big wind almost blew it off. 2) They were also hired to caulk the corners of the eavestrough as we had some leaking. Well, the one corner kept leaking and dripping loudly onto the eavestrough below. Getting them to come back and fix the errors was quite painful. It took a couple weeks of daily phone calls to get them to even get back to me. Finally they came back and secured the loose downspout and re-caulked the leaking corner. Next rainfall I heard the dripping again. After that they never got back to me after 3+ phone calls and I finally gave up and fixed it myself. Would not recommend them.
