After two years in delays, we had a carpenter lined up to replace the front porch in our century home. As the carpenter came to take some measurents, he noticed a structural support pillar was crumbling and in a bad state of disrepair. He strongly recommended that it be replaced before he could safely begin. Unfortunately he had to move on to his next job while we addressed the issue with the pillar. He could return in a few weeks if the pillar was addressed. Any further delays would postpone our porch replacement for another year. We called various masonry companies but many were unwilling to work on a structural support pillar and those who could were backed up for a few months. After reading reviews on Turnbull Masonry, I reached out to Bill and requested a quote. While many local masons never visited our home and simply gave me estimates over the phone, Bill came by to examine the pillar then returned with his brother the next day to further determine the best course of action. Together they explained the extent of the work that could be done to salvage or replace the pillar. Realistically the pillar needed to be replaced. Turnbull also ensured they could source nearly identical brick to match what was to be removed. I also asked them to address a settling crack in our home's brickwork along with two damaged window sills. Turnbull's pricing was fair and in line with other quotes we received. What stands out is after I explained our predicament, Bill and his family pulled off a miracle and were able to make some adjustments to their crew schedules so we could keep our carpenter on schedule. They could have masons at our home the same day we put down a deposit. I was completely surprised on how quickly they could dispatch a crew. The crew arrived on site the very same day ready to work. They first put up some support beams to hold up our house then got to work dismantling the old pillar. As they began the process, it was obvious the bottom few feet of brick had turned to a crumbling mess and almost everything below grade was just a pile of broken material. They went down four feet, added high quality structural concrete then reinforced the footing with rebar. They also added a course of cinder blocks at grade then followed it with properly matched brick. The job was completed in two days and we were asked to let it cure for at least a week. They kept the temporary support beams in place as the concrete cured. A week later our carpenter arrived on site and began our long-awaited porch replacement. If it wasn't for Turnbull's prompt response to our needs, we would still be waiting for a pillar replacement while a new porch would need to wait for another year. We can't thank Turnbull enough. Our old 80% efficiency furnace was struggling to provide adequate heat. The fan was intermittent and quite noisy. We were quite impressed with a Climax service call a few years earlier so we opted to call them again. Ali came by to confirm what we thought. Either repair an old furnace or replace it. There was no pressure either way. He presented us with various options. He indicated that with a high-efficency furnace and a smaller home, we didn't need to spend extra money on a larger unit. We opted to go with a new high efficiency two-stage Lennox. Since it wasn't an urgent repair, Ali worked around our schedule to swap out the furnace. He arrived right on time and completed the job in the exact time frame he expected. They put down the "red carpet" treatment to protect our floors and he and his team wore both masks for our protection and foot covers to keep dirt at bay. I'm a perfectionist and the installation was first rate. Ali sealed the vents and added a larger air filter. When they were done, you would never have known they were there! We got an added bonus on installation day when our Lennox unit was backordered so we got a higher model - at no additional cost! Way to go!

We had a major water leak pouring water on our basement ceiling. Based on Homestars reviews, I called Advanced Plumbing. They changed their schedule and dispatched a technician almost immediately. When the technician arrived, he quickly determined the water was coming from the floor above (in our kitchen). Turns out our dishwater supply line was at fault and leaking into the back wall. We turned off the supply valve and the water leak was history. While we had significant damage in our basement, ADVANCED CHARGED US NOTHING FOR THE SERVICE CALL. Next time we hear of anyone needing plumbing work, without any hesitation we’re going to recommend Advanced Plumbing. Thank you for making our already stressful day a little a little bit brighter.

Our furnace would only run for a few minutes before it shut down completely. After reading great reviews about Climax on Homestars, I put out a call to them. Sam came by the same day and had us up and running in a few minutes. He showed us that the blower relay was faulty and suggested the control board should be replaced. Since the fan could be started manually, Sam told us we could choose to save the cost of a new control board replacement by simply starting up the fan manually. This would let the furnace run without interruption. We opted to replace the control board. Sam ordered us a control board and was back the next day to install it. He also gave us some maintenance tips to keep the furnace running efficiently. Sam provides excellent and courteous service. Bravo Sam!
