We had a number of odd jobs to get done around the house that required an expert. We needed four remote-controlled ceiling fans installed, a garburator replaced and a kitchen light fixture replaced. We called a number of handymen, and finally settled on KC from Doktor Handyman. Why? He was patient on the phone, his price was reasonable, he was very experienced and the credentials were phenomenal (licensed, warranty, written contract, liability insurance, workers compensation). KC arrived on time on the agreed-upon date with some help to make the work go by faster. His team worked hard and fast, and we liked that he explained the pros and cons of everything he was going to do. He was incredibly knowledgeable. We loved that he cleaned as he went along. When the installation of the garburator caused some problems (old house), he called some of his contacts to figure out a solution. As stores were closing, nothing more could be done that day. KC came back the next day (his day off) with the necessary parts. He actually went to the store to get the missing parts. The garburator now works. Despite the job taking longer than expected (by no fault of his), KC didn't charge us extra. We were also comforted by the fact that he told us several times he was just a phone call away should any problems arise. He was very pleasant and fair, and we felt safe with him in the house. He is a jack of all trades ... and a master of all!!! We have a number of other things we'd like to do in the house, and won't hesitate to call KC for the job. I've already recommended him to my parents.

This winter, our humidifier stopped working. As a result, we began looking into getting a new humidifier in conjunction with getting a high-efficiency furnace. Sandip from Furnace King came to our home to explain all of the options and to give an estimate. He was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable. My husband and I learned a lot from speaking with him. We eventually decided to just replace the humidifier this time around. Sandip was able to suggest to us an excellent product at a price that was in our budget. We were pleased that he was able to book an appointment very quickly, and on a Saturday (any other day would have required us jumping through a lot of hoops). Despite it being cold and thus a very busy day for 'furnace emergencies', Furnace King still sent Brian to our home Saturday morning to do the job. He was very polite, efficient and knew what he was doing. He taught us a few things along the way. We were pleased with our experience. Sandip, the individual we initially dealt with, even got in touch with us after the work was done to see that we were satisfied. We will definitely be going back to Furnace King when we're ready to replace the furnace.

Rob and his crew were excellent. They showed up on time every day, and completed the work in the amount of time promised. On top of that, the price charged was reasonable. The quality of work was fantastic, and before Rob took any payment, he let us check every inch of wall to ensure our satisfaction!

We set out to renovate our basement a couple of months ago. We wanted to get potlights installed and have the electrical rewired (cleaner lines, more outlets, dimmers, new light fixtures...). Like everyone else, we work hard for our money and wanted to make sure we were making the right decision. Based on the Homestars reviews, we decided to try out Mapleleaf Electric. We met Alex for a quote, we liked him and what he said and the work began. We were incredibly pleased with Mapleleaf Electric for the following reasons: 1. Alex and his crew showed up on time both days and worked hard all day. 2. For the potlights, Alex gave us several options to chose from with varying prices and light quality. 3. The price charged for labor and materials was cheaper or similar to several other companies I called. 4. The man is brilliant!!! I wanted a switch on the main level to control the basement potlights. The initial thought was to make a small hole in the wall. However, this meant I would have to patch and repaint the wall. Alex found a way to get the job done by wiring through the garage. It was a lot more work for him and his crew but he did it happily. 5. His team, which consisted of Raffa and Adolfo, were smart, friendly, talented and very respectful. 6. When we opened one of the lights I wanted installed, we realized it was broken. My baby was sleeping, so Alex got one of his guys to go to the local store where I had bought it to buy another one. 7. The advice throughout the whole process was excellent. For instance, the number of potlights Alex suggested was perfect. As well, he advised it was not a good idea to place more outlets on exterior walls because of potential risk. 8. The work was done in the amount of time promised and it looks amazing and professional. 9. Alex willingly did work on things I asked for at the last minute at no charge (ie. Had electrical problem with outlet in kitchen). 10. A few weeks after the renos were done, we realized we had a problem with our breaker panel. Alex came back the next day and assessed the situation. Despite our panel being 50 years old, Alex found the right piece and fixed the problem the same day ... at no charge. Alex and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They're the best bang for your buck and you'll have no regrets.
