We had this company install wood siding to replace all existing vinyl siding on the back of our house and the soffits. I have nothing to gain by writing this review but I hired this company based on the great reviews that I saw here and I have to say that I had the opposite experience of what I have read. The job was supposed to be done in a few weeks but ended up taking months - mostly because no one would show up to do the work or because material didn't get ordered. At one point, instead of using the product that we had requested and ordered (prefinished wood siding with a warranty) I found the installers had painted 2 X 4s and wainscoting with paint which they thought matched colour of the rest of the siding. The best part is they tried to pass it off as the siding or window moulding that we had ordered. The response was that the it was what the siding manufacturer had sent. Classic! They ended up correcting this but with more delay because they had to redo some of the installation. Our backyard was treated like a dumping ground - a year later I am still picking up nails and cigarette butts - this could have easily been avoided with minimal effort. Delays are acceptable and I can forgive many other shortcomings but only if the workmanship is good - what I got is very mediocre at best. Nails sticking out, cracked boards, gaps between boards, different coloured nails etc. I repeatedly pointed these out and was assured that it would all be fixed in the end. The fixes where not really fixes or they were not done at all and I eventually decided, since this went on for four months, that it was best to cut my losses. Overall, it doesn't look finished and like a professional did the work. If these are the standards that this company has then they are not very high. Even if I had a warranty on the work it wouldn't be worth very much. I ended up hiring someone else to come and fix some of the more egregious deficiencies. What I liked the least and found to be very unprofessional was that there a steady stream of excuses - it was the workers fault, it was the supplier's fault, it was my fault. This company has something to offer but they need to step it up to be truly deserving of a perfect score on this site.

- Company Response
First off I would like to say that the employees that worked on this project are no longer employeed with Mr. Reno.
There are a few reasons for this project taking longer than anticipated. The first delivery of material was incorrect leaving us with only half the material needed, this was a mistake on the suppliers end. It resulted in having to order more material which takes three to four weeks to arrive from the US. Once the second set of material was installed the home owners decided to add the siding to the soffit and dormers, which wasn't part of the original quote, therefore adding another few weeks for material to arrive, as well as install time. We painted wood trim to match just as a stop gap until the real siding arrived. This project was over a year ago and you can read my many great reviews before and since. I gave the home owner a 2 year warranty and have not heard from him since the project ended. I was surprised he would write a review so long after the project ended without coming to me first to address any issues he had.
