Installation of plug-in Chargepoint EV charger in townhouse
Found Sigma Electric here in Homestars after another electrician was a no-show. I liked the reviews and gave him a call. He came same day to verify the panel and the complexity of the install. He carefully assessed the situation and gave me an estimate and said he would try to do the install with just 1 exposed hole in the drywall, but it would really depend on how things played out. He assured me that he'd do as little damage as possible. We agreed he would replace the drywall and I would do the patching and painting, which was ok with me. He left and was to confirm which day he'd come. Within a day or two he confirmed for and came that same week, sooner than I had expected. Showed up on time and gave much thought as to how best approach the wiring. He was bang on. One single hole on the drywall and another hidden from the garage towards the house. The install was very tidy and professional. Looks awesome, works great, and was for the agreed amount. The inspection was the painful part, as the inspector cancelled twice, until Peter booked a confirmed appointment, which took about 10 days to happen. Definitely go that route. Better wait longer but confirmed. Peter's work easily passed inspection. I 100% recommend Peter for his great work, communication, and fair price. Consider this, the Ontario government offered a rebate of 50% of the installation, up to $500 (meaning they would cover 50% of installations of up to $1,000). Every electrician I spoke to (about 6 in total) quoted $1000 or more. Peter was the only honest one charging less than that. That to me speaks volumes of his ethics and honesty. Needless to say, Peter is my go-to electrician going forward!
