Svea Kitchens

I have kept my initial review from 2012, that follows, but to update, I have to say this kitchen has not really stood the test of time.

There is a lazy-susan corner unit that has needed repairs on several occasions. The finish on the cupboards is very hard to clean and leaves long term marks. After the install I have slowly realized that shortcuts were taken in places I would not see at first but are revealed over time. Some of the lifting-style cupboard door lock into a straight position at times and hardware needs to be hammered by hand back in to place. The frosted glass used in cupboard doors is almost impossible to clean without leaving streaks and marks and ruining the finish.
The general look is still ok and it functions, and to be fair it is not an expensive kitchen, but it is the heart of my home and sometime I do feel disappointed that I have having these problems.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Having met Vlad at a trade show, we were immediately impressed with his product, and with him. We spent almost 2 years researching kitchen companies, contractors and renovators to work with, and in the end, Vlad and Svea Kitchens was our decision.

He and his team (designer, contractor to oversee the trades, installer, connections to other services) worked so well together. Nothing was a problem too big to address. From the beginning they worked with us to create the design and select the finishes that would best suit our living style and use of the space.

Every job, large or small, will have unexpected issues that have to be resolved, and every concern was handled very quickly and to our full satisfaction.

Kitchens can be a source of horror stories - and we have only good stories to share. After only 15 days from the beginning of demolition, I had a basic working kitchen to use.

You can choose a cheaper do-it-yourself approach, or go full out and blow the bank on something outrageous. But for a moderately priced, well done, good looking, functional space, there is no competition.

We definitely recommend Svea kitchens.

Kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house, and attention to detail, attentiveness and patience of the contractor is so very important. All this and more we have found when we met Vlad and Nadia at Svea Kitchens. Starting from the design, Nadia listened to our needs, suggested ideas and within just a few meetings we had our dream kitchen in a 3D image! From the variety of beautiful and very modern finishes we found the one we loved.
When the kitchen arrived (suprisingly quickly), the installation was also a breeze. Oleg the installer was extremely professional and went out of his way to do an amazing job. We love our kitchen and recommend Svea kitchens to all our friends.

We had looked at many contractors for our kitchen renovation and we felt that Svea Kitchens had the best style, quality and price. We were very impressed with Vlad and Nadia, they greatly assisted with the designes when we were working with measurements for items we had not received. One cabinet had design issues that was the manufacturer's fault. They fixed it.

We decided on a kitchen renovation in 2011 and as a starting point visited the Toronto Interior Design Show where we came upon the SVEA booth. We were impressed with their quality but thought they would be a bit upscale for our small kitchen needs. We checked out local kitchen contractors and had almost settled on one when we decided to visit SVEA to compare. We were glad we did! Vlad was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and he and Nadia came out to our house at no charge to measure up for a design. This was the deciding factor as the other contractor would only do this for a sizeable fee. SVEA's price was also comparable, whilst their hardware quality and cabinet finish was better. We decided to go with SVEA and with Vlad and Nadia's help settled on a design and finish. It took a few weeks for the cabinets to be made up and shipped from Europe, but then they were delivered personally by Vlad and his team on a weekend, and fitted very quickly. Vlad was also very helpful when we decided on some post fitting extras. We are very pleased with the results, would not change a thing, and recommend SVEA to others.

Vlad and Nadia at SVEA are a pleasure to work with. Very helpful and talented. The cabinets are fabulous. They were versatile to meet our very specific needs and taste. This company did a fantastic job on my kitchen. They were quick and the job was exactly what I wanted. Their granite and counters were brilliant quality and the workers were polite and worked quickly. I recommend them to anyone.

We saved for years, researched contractors, and found the best - Vlad from Svea Kitchens. The cabinets are solid wood and have excellent craftsmanship. Lots of choice of types of cabinets and shelving within. Great design by staff and they thought of things we didn't. Installers were polite, professional, and did a great job. There is always one glitch on every job - nothing is ever perfect. SO...you need to have a contractor like Vlad who dealt with the glitch immediately and we were only delayed a few days. Vlad didn't give us any hassle - he just dealt with it. We HIGHLY recommend Vlad and Svea Kitchens.

I really like this company. The product was excellent. They have a lot of varity. The price and the customer service were excellent. The designer come to my home and measure my kitchen and everything was perfect. I received the whole kitchen in time, and very good installation and very fast. Excellent quality because is a big manufactury of Europe
