The Ontario Sheriff can be early, as was the case with your eviction but we have seen them as late as one hour. A locksmith cannot proceed to open the door on your behalf and change the lock on a residential dwelling until the Sheriff arrives with the eviction notice. With eviction situations we always give leeway by attending one half hour early and only start to bill if the Sheriff arrives within that first half hour.
