My bathroom fan was installed with a gap between it and the ceiling which allowed moist bathroom air to enter the attic. I was concerned about this so had 2 attic inspections done. Both companies said there was no moisture damage but that the attic needes more insolation and the baffled were not clear. The first company wanted to replace my bathroom fan to ensure it was covered by their warranty. Green Minds proposed creating an insulation box around it instead and had a much better quote price. They started early but werent able to complete the work on the same day as it got hot towards the afternoon. They came back a few days later to finish up the work. They added more insulation to get it up to R60, extended 1/3 of the baffles and sealed the rest, enclosed the fan in a hard insulation box to stop air flow, added wood board around the opening to keep the insulation in, and added hard insulation to the top of the attic lid. I havnt noticed much difference but I'm hoping I'll notice it more in the winter. They were polite and cleaned up afterwards. Other than the work not being completed on the scheduled day it was good.
