Common Grounds Construction

Hired Jamie in the winter to install an in ground pool for us in the spring. First issue was that he said he would start in June and didn’t start till July. Second was communication, he ghosted us on and off for months throughout the job not replying to our messages for weeks and sometimes never. Third was the quality of the work , our pool walls and bench are far from straight and after the liner was installed it peeled away from the edge . He worked for about a week before he moved onto the next project and we had to reach out to him to see what was going on and when he was going to return. He blamed the pandemic for the delays, but he needs to make sure he responds to calls and texts from clients and not only when it’s convenient for him. Finally he never once gave us a receipt for the three payments we made and kept ignoring that part of the texts.

To be successful in the future he needs to respond to clients as communication is a big part of the job. He did however respond back when we let him know we would finish the job ourselves! You can’t leave your client with a infested swamp pool for over a month with no communication and expect them not to reach out with questions.

Paid Jamie to install a new pool in my backyard. He was difficult to get a hold of, but I figured that was just because he was busy. We worked out what we wanted, and once he got our deposit, he was nearly impossible to get a hold of. When construction started, he and his team were fine to work with and I was quite happy. He wrapped up construction and installed the liner, filled it, and closed it in the same afternoon. We were happy but we needed to wait until spring to finish some plumbing and open the pool. When spring arrived, he never returned my calls, texts, emails - abandoning the job. When we took the winter cover off, there was a two foot wrinkle in the liner that he obviously knew about and took off. Now, I’m having to deal with lawyers about a lawsuit and he still won’t return calls or do the right thing. Avoid this company at all costs. Such a shame because I thought Jamie was a better person than he’s turned out to be.
